We had the good fortune of connecting with David Salumu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
David Salumu is a Congolese-American actor, model, and wardrobe stylist; he currently resides in Dallas, Texas. Life didn’t give him a chance to grow up beside his parents. At the age of 12, David was compelled to flee his home nation due to its unjust administration. Life taught him to grow up before his age. Life was never easy for him growing up without his parents. However, he’s so thankful for the lesson he has learn and so proud of the man he has become.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m the CEO and founder of the DS Fashion Clothing line, founded in 2019. The pandemic made 2020 a little difficult for the fashion industry. Due to the lack of planned fashion events featuring my work, business declined. However, I’m so grateful for the relationship I have built with my clients, the support, and the trust they have shown me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite pastime is eating. Keep the fact that I’m thin, don’t tell the secret. I enjoy cooking, so I’ll introduce my friends to new foods. My favorite place to dine and unwind after a long week is HQ Dallas Rooftop. Hey, we only have one life to live; make the most of it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to take this opportunity to thank almighty God, who has strengthened me and guided me throughout these years. Also, I want to shout out to my family, who has been my advocate. Thanks to everyone who has been supporting me since day one. I love you all.
