Meet Davarius Crowder: Worship Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with Davarius Crowder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Davarius, how do you think about risk?
I think risk taking is an art, simply because you get a chance to make mistakes and learn from them. Some of the most influential people in the world were risk takers. 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love to express my Life through Music that comes to my heart. I am one who literally caters to the heart of people. I’ve prayed to God to give me the discernment of what people go through. On top of asking for the discernment, I’ve asked him to give me a strategy through my gifts that will uplift them at any time, whether they’re happy or sad. I’ve gotten to where I am today because of God and the help of a few people who has given me opportunities. It absolutely has not been easy, normally unique people are misunderstood. There have been times in my life where I didn’t think I was significant, because of the judgment of others and what they felt like I should be. But nobody would respect a person if they’re not who God has called them to do. I’ve learned to not put my hope or trust in man, but use all the gifts that God has given to me. I want to world to know that they can trust me to not take advantage of their needs or wants.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest, I’m not really an outgoing person. But I would take my best friend to “Sweet Georgia Brown’s Cafe”. Then we would go downtown Dallas to a few lounge spots, to enjoy live music, poetry, and different creatives. So one of my favorite things to do is go walking at White Rock Lake to relax my mind and just allow the water to create a peaceful image in my mind.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family deserves recognition, simply because they give me the push I need outside of God. I am inspired daily by my family, I also able to be an example to them especially my siblings.
