We had the good fortune of connecting with Dava Rabb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dava, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was an avid online shopper and one night I told my husband as much as I love to shop, I ought to be selling the clothes myself! That’s when it all began!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I graduated from Angelo State University in 1986 with a Business Degree. I never did anything with the degree until I decided to open my own online boutique in 2014. Then, it still didn’t do much as far as give me any knowledge to running a successful boutique. I’ve learned so much on my own and through The Boutique Hub. It is a wealth of knowledge for any aspiring boutique owner. It has definitely not been easy but it has been so much fun. I love getting recognized. I love making new friends. Some of my best friends are ladies I have met through Ranch and Famous. I want ladies to know if I can do this, anyone can. Would I change a few things? Of course! Have I learned so much since day 1? You bet. I wish I had had the knowledge I do now back on day 1. But, I probably wouldn’t have grown so much as a person if I had.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Angelo has many unique spots that I would love to show them. We would visit Fort Concho, visit the beautiful San Angelo Visitor Center. I’d show them our unique city museum. We would eat at Western Sky Steakhouse, The Grill and probably Pepe’s Diner for the best catfish in town. Oh, and most definitely we would shop on the historic Concho Street.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I started out without a penny to invest in a boutique so I learned all about dropshipping. Red Barn Ranch, Kathy Satterfield, gave me a chance and it took off from there. My husband, Stephen, deserves more than a little recognition in my story. I couldn’t do any of it without him.
