Hi Darlene, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Nobody’s Secret was based off of my personal experiences. After I had my daughter in October 2021, seeing my body go through changes was really rough. There were times I didn’t feel sexy and was very insecure. I knew this feeling could be felt worldwide with other moms or women in general. In today’s society, you’re expected to snap back into shape right after childbirth. I wanted to create something that could make other moms and women, in general, feel sexy. I wanted to be in position to help spice up their sex life or even get their groove back (before kids!). So, I started creating customized charm panties and it took off from there. Nobody’s Secret was created to make every woman feel sexy, regardless of their body size.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nobody’s Secret is black-owned and women-owned. We are a lingerie store that focuses on making customized charm panties. Whether you want your partner’s name or your nickname, our job is to make you feel sexy. Our panties range in sizes from Small to 4X. Would you rather have his name tatted or his name on a pair of panties?!? Choose wisely! In the business world, if you have luck people think you’re good. I believe fate and luck played a big role in Nobody’s Secret. Prior to starting this business, I was not very artistic. However, over the last 4 years, I’ve been able to watch my parent’s crafting business expand. I was able to tap into my artistic side. I taught myself how to sew by watching YouTube videos, along with a lot of trial and error.

I want the world to know that Nobody’s Secret is a safe space for all women, no matter their size. We are here to uplift you and make you feel sexy and confident!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. This museum chronicles the life, death and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. The best fast food place in Dallas is Whataburger! If we were to hang out, I would definitely take them to Kylde Warren Park in downtown Dallas. They have amazing food trucks, different events, and a small waterpark.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my customers honestly. Without them, Nobody’s Secret would not be here. I appreciate my customers for entrusting me to bring their vision to reality.
