We had the good fortune of connecting with Darius Aldridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Darius, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursue the artistic and creative career cause I been a creative person growing up. My mind be running full idea and new stuff to just random make. Whether it singing, dancing, acting etc; I’ve always a creative way to show case who I am and what I represent.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Almost every performance, gigs, project I’ve done I m always proud of. One I always thank God for each thing I do. But the exciting thing about this type of career is how far it can take me. Meeting new people, doing shows that may lead into bigger shows. It always exciting to see what the next best thing. Getting to the point where I am now was not easy thing to do. Most of time it was all about doing stage performance, posting acting or dancing video to showcase my work, training by doing classes to get better and better. Even lucky enough to knowing the right people helping me get to where I am today and I m soo grateful for that. But along with great success it dud come with hardship, at time it was sad if I didn’t get on project, life take a toll on my mind and effect my creative to point that sometimes I didn’t wanna do it anymore and just give up. Thankful that I had help from friends and family as they pull me out dark many times to help me see and overcome the challenges I faced, they’re the reason why I keep pursuing this career.
This lesson i would say I’ve lesson it never lose yourself in who you are. I know some people when they hit big people lose that certain spark they once had cause they wanna to appeal to a certain and then it don’t be authentic anymore in there craft. And compared your work to other people and make them feel ashamed about what they made.
Nowadays people are starting to notice who I am and I glad, cause the one thing I always want to do is to leave a smile on people faces once they meet me. And hopefully soon I can bring a big smile to the world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In the city of Dallas there sooooo many places to checkout to where the best to do is go out with friends and just explore the city you never know what you going to find or even what new place you like.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
