We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Tarron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My wife Kristal and I opened TNT Tattoo Company in 2018. The best decision of our lives. While I do have degrees in Art, and blessed to have sold art most of my life, my lovely wife is a self-taught artist with a proper apprenticeship in tattooing. Even with my background, her talent puts me to shame lol. As of 2025, I have 22 years in the tattooing industry. We have seen it go through many changes. Some for the better, and some I won’t speak of lol. However, I am so very grateful for all of it. We opened our studio as it was “the thing to do” when you reach a certain level in our industry. We, like so many, did this with our futures in mind. Unbeknownst to us, it would become about so much more than our longevity and possible retirement. We get to witness young artists coming into their own, honing their skills, and discovering their way through our industry. It has been a very surreal and rewarding experience for us. While trying not to preach, we do share our philosophy of love and kindness in hopes that each of them find their happiness and success in life and their careers. What began as a personal endeavor blossomed into a new world and afforded us the opportunity to share our journey with others. Interacting with so many wonderful clients, hearing their stories, and helping express them through art is a blessing in itself. Every encounter is an opportunity to learn and feel something new, and only adds to the experience. Sometimes being in love with being in love is contagious, and success is a byproduct. Hopefully when someone visits our studio, they feel the love, and leave a little happier. A killer piece of art to go home with can’t hurt either.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was an oddball when I joined the industry. Long ago, the tattooing industry was still very much taboo and on the fringe of societal norms. It was populated by what most would label as “outlaws, gang-members, and evil-doers” lol. I was a college graduate, fancied myself as well-spoken, tattoo-less, imposter that did not belong. Having only been introduced to traditional artistic mediums, I had no concept of what was possible (artistically) with a tattoo machine. By happenstance, I glanced through a tattoo magazine at a grocery store. To my disbelief, fine art was a possibility! And permanently in the skin! Until then, my knowledge (of tattoos visually) was limited to the movies, and an occasional glimpse of a strangers artwork. At the time, tattooing was a guarded secret, and no one was going to “enlighten” you with sacred knowledge. Undetoured, I searched for means of acquiring the equipment needed (to the best of my educated guess needed lol). I happened upon a new business, EBay (yes I’m old), where I procured well-worn equipment and learned basic sterilization procedures. Through shear luck, or divine intervention, I landed a position in a tattoo studio (the first one I ever stepped foot in, ever). I learned as much as I could, made lots of mistakes, and eventually gave myself my very first tattoo. Looking back, so many things fell into place for me. I am so very grateful I took that first step and stuck with it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Firstly, I’d proclaim Fort Worth (and its surrounding little cities) the best place to live and visit in Texas. I’ve had the privilege of visiting lots of lovely places around the state and country, and while each is beautiful in their own way, Fort Worth is home and wins big in my book. I don’t think a week would be ample time to acquaint a visitor with the wonders that Fort Worth holds. However, during their visit, the always wonderful Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Bonnell’s Fine Dinning , and Japanese Palace (Hibachi and Sushi) would be musts for sustenance. While I’m abit antiquated for the night life, Billy Bobs in the Historic Stockyards, and anywhere adjacent to Sundance Square Downtown would enamor a guest. Of course for some shameless self-promotion, I’d have them visit TNT Tattoo Company in Haltom City for a peek into my world!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d be remiss to name one or two people without mentioning them all. So I will refrain from names, but thank each and every soul in our industry. So many lessons, some positive and some negative, but lessons nonetheless. We are so grateful to our love ones for supporting and believing in us. So thankful to every artist thats ever worked with us, and every client thats graced us with their business. Without positivity I don’t think success is achievable. My personal positivity flows from all the wonderful people that surround me. Of course, that includes my lovely talented wife, who is the source of my happiness. You can’t fail if you focus on love and kindness. It’s always around, you just have to stop and look.
