We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Wheat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I thrive off of my Client’s energy! This is an easy answer for me. I feel it the moment they inquire about their session. Its an unbelievable feeling and I know that I have to bring my best because that’s what they expect! That accountability alone drives me to keep going!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to build relationships! I feel I’m different from others because I have the ability to relate to the masses! Texas is a melting pot in itself so Customer relations is extremely important. I can walk into a corporate setting and nail a presentation then turn around and coordinate a street fashion photo session. Texas accent or Business lingo are main weapons! All my previous jobs I’ve held in my life dealt with Customer Service in some sort. I know people and I study their behavior. Strong insight has helped me reach new levels of success and networking has helped me remain consistent in my actions. I’ve learned to have a strong structure in my booking process. Convenience tools on social media have helped me greatly in providing a fast and timely response. Directing my potential clients to the right platform is so important and I have greatly improved from when I first started. I want the world to know that Daniel Wheat was a passionate individual who valued God, Family and the Arts!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas has the best skyline in the world! A must see when the sun goes down! Deep Ellum has an assortment of bars and live music. The Downtown steak houses have the best meat selection that Texas has to offer! Outdoor opportunities on some of the nicest lakes and rivers. Oak Cliff and Bishop Art District has some of the best mexican food and custom eateries that Texas has to offer! Music venues all over the city offer top of the line entertainment from the biggest music artists.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, Omar Ramos is my current mentor and friend! I had the opportunity to attend one of his workshops two years ago and our journey began. He is originally from New York and has worked for major fashion brands and has deeply impacted his current following in the DFW metroplex. I’ve learned so much and often find myself in awe on how far I’ve progressed using his lighting techniques.
