We had the good fortune of connecting with Dallasforkids and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dallasforkids, what do you attribute your success to?
To have fun while keeping my goal in mind. I don’t take myself too serious because I want this to continue to be something I look forward doing not something I feel like I have to do. I started my page because I wanted to create content that can make someone’s life a little easier.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I am not running my page, running around with my kids or spending time with my husband, I am working. I have a pretty serious job where I constantly have to be analytical, detail oriented, and a risk identifier, which I do love, but I also love to have fun and be adventurous. My page is a really great creative outlet for me. I want to share and help those with kids find places around the DFW area, where not only the kids have fun but also the adults. When I am seeking content for my page I am using my free time looking for things all of us can do to have fun, make memories and relax, and this can be very time consuming. A constant challenge, is balancing it all, sometimes I do have to take time off to regroup and it is so important I do because I can become completely overwhelmed if I allow it. After I take time off to clear my head, I not only feel better mentally but I can think clearer and remind myself that I need to pace myself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love walking around downtown Dallas. I love the energy there. Everyone just wants to enjoy the views and relax and you can feel the positive energy. For brunch I enjoy going to San Martin. It is such a beautiful place and the food is amazing. I would for sure take them to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Reunion Tower. I also love to go dancing. There are so many places in DFW you can go dancing, drinking and eat, like at Te Deseo, who has a rooftop bar.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The main reason I wanted to create this page was for my kids! They constantly keep me on my toes but my husband is the reason I started this. He is the one that pushes and encourages me 100%. He is the one that keeps me centered and grounded when there is so much craziness around me. He supports everything I do and is the one that truly believes I can do anything.
