We had the good fortune of connecting with Daja Talks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daja, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My ultimate objective is to fulfill my purpose in accordance with my faith and positively impact as many lives as possible. I aspire to one day deliver talks that guide individuals on their spiritual journey and contribute to a transformative shift in religious discourse.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m presently managing accounts for a company specializing in foam for airline seats, a discovery I made only after they found my resume on Indeed and invited me for an interview. Although I had already accepted another job, I decided to attend, and I’m grateful I did. I see it as divine intervention, positioning me precisely where I’m meant to be for personal and professional growth.
My time at this company has been instrumental in fostering my growth, particularly in cultivating maturity in interpersonal interactions and navigating challenging situations. It’s been a constant push beyond my comfort zone, which I believe is pivotal for personal and professional development.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I’m actively involved in hosting two podcasts. One, ‘Winedown Unapologetically,’ I co-host with my aunt, while the other, ‘A Change 4 Christ: The Podcast,’ is in collaboration with my church. These projects bring me immense fulfillment, as I believe they align with my calling to offer fresh perspectives on life and spirituality.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my top spots in Fort Worth, Texas, is the Botanical Gardens. The serene beauty of nature there brings me immense peace and tranquility, making it a favorite destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. I highly recommend visiting the art museum in Dallas. The art and culture showcased there are truly remarkable and offer a deeply humbling experience. It’s definitely worth exploring.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to express my gratitude to my immediate family—despite the challenges of my upbringing, it shaped me into the person I am today, and I’ve witnessed everyone’s remarkable growth with admiration. Additionally, I extend heartfelt thanks to my Pastor and First Lady for embracing me and providing a platform for me to share my truth.
