We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Massey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, what do you attribute your success to?
To me the most important factor is building relationships with the business owners so they can trust I will do the best to my ability to represent their business. At the same time, building relationships with my followers by responding to their questions is important. This makes them trust me with my recommendations on what restaurants or products to try. A mutual respect from all parties will lead to everyone succeeding.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a social media content creator. My main focus is restaurants and food products. I either go to restaurants and film content for them or I receive products and make recipes.
During COVID, I focused on bringing restaurants and food trucks to the neighborhood to help them have business while helping my neighborhood stay fed when we couldn’t go anywhere. This in turn continued to fuel my interest in spreading the word on good food and helping businesses out.
It can be hard at times since I have a family and a job so balancing it all can be tricky yet it is so much fun. I try to stay true to my page and therefore growing my follower count has been slow and steady but rewarding nonetheless! I have learned and continue to learn new techniques with video making, new ways to edit, and new experiences each time that push me to be better at what I do!
I want everyone to know that I am here to tell someone’s story. By telling their story, I hope to inspire others to go and visit their establishments or try their products!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since we are moms, there would definitely be different types of activities/food that we would try. I would take them to different areas in DFW.
If we went to Dallas, I would love to take my friend to downtown Dallas, explore Warren Park, go to the Exchange Hall for lunch to try different food. The Dallas farmers Market would be fun or even going to some museums. Dinner in the Bishop Arts area would be great. My favorite spot is Beckley 1115 for incredible food in a homey environment.
The suburbs have so many different areas such as Grandscape, Legacy West, Shake at Legacy, Boardwalk at Granite Park, etc. Food truck parks like the Truck Yard is also fun! We would definitely explore all those areas!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my husband. We have kids so a lot of times going on collaborations to restaurants means he has to stay home to watch the kiddos so that I can go to work! He is amazing!
