We had the good fortune of connecting with Cris Brenham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cris, what do you attribute your success to?
Keeping my reputation, character, and integrity in tact. I tell everyone that comes to me for advice, or just in casual conversation that keeping those three in tact at all times is very close to being just as important as the music or whatever industry they are in.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being from a musical family, church-driven background, I’ve been around music my entire life. I started off dancing professionally at the age of 3. I became a chronic asthmatic, and at the age of 10, my mom pulled me from dancing, and introduced me to the piano. From then on, it’s been my life. I’m definitely excited about a lot coming up. I’ve started the process of doing my first project, and I’m so excited about the collabs, and most of all excited about conquering my fear! Dallas has such a high standard, and I want to present quality. I conquered my fear by getting myself to a place of understanding no one is gonna do what I want done for myself but me! It’s a hard pill to swallow because I’ve made sure everyone that I’ve worked with was taken care of and given the best. Now it’s my time! I deserve to give myself the best, and I have no regrets thus far! Im not rushing the project, but I am keeping track of time. It waits for no one!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a tough one because it’s sooo many great places. Depending upon what kind of mood they are in we would definitely stroll through Deep Ellum, hit up the aquarium, Galleria for shopping, and hopefully catch a show, and or have them come to a show I’m playing. I’m chill, low-key, vibe kinda guy, so whatever makes them happy and enjoy their time, that’s what we are doing. Dallas is a great place for entertainment, so we can always find something to do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Pam Brenham, my mom! She definitely sacrificed so that I would have the education, lessons, gear, and discipline I needed to do what I do today. She purchased my first keyboard, used bill money to pay for my lessons, but most of all she gives me the love needed to go out and do what I love to do! She’s my #1 fan!
