We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney LaShaun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I would say all of the time and effort that goes into it. Being in front of the camera is not as easy as some would think. It does take practice and being able to take direction. You can be on set all day some times as well as multiple days if needed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I would say more of what keeps me going. What keeps me going is being able to tell a story through a photo and give life to a character. It has not been an easy road by any means and to be honest I don’t expect it to get any easier but things worth working for usually don’t come easy. There have been many challenges for me to overcome and I know in this industry, there will be more. My motivation to keep going is the idea of the next project and the challenges that it brings and being able to  represent more diversity in the industry as well. I love being someone that puts a positive message out for others to receive and just the idea of being a positive presence in someone’s life or being able to help someone relate is a joy within itself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recently relocated to Dallas from San Antonio ,so I can say that I am still learning the area and discovering new spots and hidden gems.In a way I am still in the tourist phase. A place that I have been to and like the atmosphere would be The STAR complex, I like the outside field where everyone is playing or just relaxing and we would have to go to the video game museum in Frisco.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A Dallas local and native that I would like to shout out would be Shantel Ross,CEO of @shaysgoodies_ as well as a  Model and Actress.
