We had the good fortune of connecting with Corey Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Corey, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Fort Worth, Texas. I grew up in the suburbs and had a few friends from the south and eastside that I hung out with a lot and I think for the most part it taught me to really see how other people came up and the variety of backgrounds someone could come from. I know many of the people I tend to work with had a lot harder life than I did and they get up and grind every day like I do, and that inspires me to keep going and always find a common ground with the people around me, and to make no excuses for myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve only gotten as far as I have by putting my head down and trying to get a little better every day. From money issues to just not feeling like I have a place in what I want to do I’ve just always believed that if I work hard, do good business and good work, and remain humble and honest there’s no way I can lose. I want people to know I’m gonna do what it takes to get where I want to be, and I’ll always put everything I have into my career and my projects.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t go out very often but I would for sure take them to some of the sleeper food spots, go around and show them some of the fun things to do in Dallas and Arlington and probably to a local show or event DFW always has.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my team and production company ArtsUntitled, and my close friends I worked with to get where I am. Those guys never let me forget that I can be the best if I want to be, they constantly support me and make sure to get my name around whenever possible, and never hesitate to push me to be better. As well as my girlfriend Avery, whom I wouldn’t have found an interest in movies, and who always supports me in pursuing my passions.
