We had the good fortune of connecting with ChuckWavy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ChuckWavy, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Being from New Orleans you develop a resiliency to thrive and keep pushing. By the time life starts happening to you ,your up bringing and surroundings have challenged you throughly. You brain and problem solving skills kind of unconsciously develops a plan or an evacuation route to take to get you where you need to be .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I always describe my music as WAVY and porous. It gets into peoples brain and skin it’s no way you can listen to it and not take away something..

I’m here today because of my will to win and succeed. My upbringing and the Army instilled some morals and life skills to live by . These things have propelled me through some challenging times as man and an artist as well .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If In New Orleans of course Cafe Dumonde , the French Quarter and Canal Burbon st. These places embodie the essence of the city . For the locals it’s other places but to be on the safe side for tourists I’d take them there . If I’n Austin, Tx I’d have to give them a tour of Dirty 6th st Downtown. One of the best places to experience live music and a great local experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother Annette of course and Jay -Z . She named me perfectly . My artist name is Chuckwavy but the name she blessed me with is “Chase” . By virtue this name has put me in place I couldn’t imagine. It’s like it came with an innate instinct. I’ve always had this God given foresight to see things in a verity of perspective’s, which allowed me to move accordingly. At the age of 16 I was blessed to be in the company of Jay-Z and Kanye West at the Legendary video shoot for the song “ IZZO” . It was through her grace she allowed me to stay in California one more day while visiting my father . Which set the course in life in which I fell in love with music and the hip-hop culture..
