Meet Christopher Smith | C.E.O. & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Helping artist generate income from their music. Develop a record label in my city that could be looked at throughout the United States of America. To sign myself and to generate money. No company pays, so in order for me to gain income, I had to start my own record label. The process wasn’t over night. I wanted to start a corporation that receives donations from the city and turn those donations into something profitable. I also want to expand my business into management of artist. After seeing what artist go through, I begin to think of a way to help the artist while gaining income myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Serving My Purpose Records was established in 2009 by myself for the reson to release a album and have record label for artist in my city to call home and get paid for their music. I have a sole-proprietorship company tha’s ran by myself solely with plans of expanding into management. We have currently released ‘Written In Blood’ and are working on another album for the sequel. We havealso released 6 mixtapes into the music industry from the album Written In Blood. We are featured on the #1 mixtape in Dallas, Texas currently with the single “I Live’. Being the only record label in Waco, Texas that has a in-store album not on consignment is our drive. Paying for, Recording, manufacturing, distribution of a album more difficult than known to man. 5 years of studying before recording the album ‘Written In Blood’ was taken off to welcome the hurdles in the music industry we face today. Not to pay for cheap promotions, read contracts you sign, be your own boss are the lessons I pass on in life in conferences, conversations, and meetings. Serving your purpose is a infinate desire that burns inside of us all when harnessed and channeled for your purpose is what we manifested to become the label we are today.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Mr. Arlandis Estelle recognized my success before I did myself. He enhanced my efforts by giving me confirmation that I got this! I would wake up in the morning and begin to think about the day before instead of the day ahead until I would meet with Mr. Estelle to get the president encouragement that yesterday was a building block to today’s success. In the times of not knowing where my next meal would come from, Mr. Estelle would give me location and time to find food and shelter if needed. In times of tired thoughts, Mr. Arlandis Estelle would refresh my mind with helpful hints to constantly gain power before those thoughts of giving up kicked in. His love is unconditional to this day. Constant phone call conversations, visits, meetings, events, even text messages. I’m thankful to every fan that has ever listened to my music for a second. A gigantic Shout out to those who saved my music for repeat. I also thank the organization Mission Waco for the years of long support. Their excellent!
