Meet Christina”Stina Cherie” Johnson | Influencer & Innovator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina”Stina Cherie” Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina ”Stina Cherie”, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The decision to expand my horizon and create a path for myself that was opposite of what my grandma wanted me to do contributed to my success. She loved me dearly and wanted me to stay close in my home state of Michigan for college, but I knew I was supposed to leave the state. I spent a semester in Kentucky as a student at Kentucky State University. There I lost the inherited concerns about not being close to my immediate family and gave them confidence in my decisions to build my own life and follow my dream. From that leap of faith I moved to California then Texas which aligned my life with great people and everything that I needed, wanted and didn’t know I would need to bring more success to my life as a mompreneur.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
True to the name of my start up Fine Eclectic and person brand StinaCherie I am eclectic in my own ways without limits, but still true to my boundaries. I would say that my view on life, creativity and heart for people sets me apart. I have an understanding of the times and trends, but I don’t adapt everything that is out there into my life, mind and brand. I never minded doing my own thing while everyone else is something what’s most popular. I got where I am today professionally because I originally wanted to study culinary arts and my high school principle pulled me out of the classes and enrolled me into the academy of finance. From there with the information I learned I continued to add to it and created a roadmap for what I was seeking to achieve. After I created the roadmap I went to the people and through the doors that I needed to which ultimately lead me to become a financial specialist in the banking industry. In my spare time I didn’t look forward to the weekends to party instead I used my job funds to save, support my lifestyle and fund my dreams. I would work sometime part time and full time which going to school and with all my free time I’d research, write, take pictures, do influencer related project, network, create concepts, style upcoming artist, professionals and actors. So, no it wasn’t easy to say the least, but I was very fulfilled in my life because everything I did was with a purpose and inspired other people to pursue their dreams and goals.
I overcame both minor and major challenges through pray, tenacity will to succeed and the encouragement from my village. Whether I had to do a royal flush or my plans or readjust my plan slightly I did what was best for the bigger picture and not just what I wanted to do because of how I felt. One of the main lessons I learned is that no matter hat you feel like you want or don’t have the things you truly need you already have and everything else will come to you as you continue to stride forward.
I want the world to know that my brand is my story. All the things have experienced and didn’t experience brought me to this point. I am a micro influencer and growing in the mist of the draft picks I am surly being appreciated as one of the soon to be greats for more than just a look, but for my gifts and eclectic ways I share my message, knowledge, skills and creativity. I am picky with a great heart and love the freedom of just being myself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we would have a home cooked breakfast made with love and quality foods from whole foods from Highland Village. After that its a must to hydrate at a Starbucks before heading to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden for some beautiful scenery and kind people at shops. Enjoying the ride home the long way without taking highways to catch a glimpse at ranches and farm animals along the way. I love a good adventure so we would head to Denton to search for the infamous purple door. Then after hopefully finding the door without cheating haha we would go to Gnome Cones for some gnome cones to cool down and enjoy a tasty icy treat! Taking a walk around the college town we would walk right across the street to Dix Coney Island Denton. I am from Detroit and the owner happens to be as well and they for sure mastered the art of bring Detroit’s chili cheese fries to Texas! The next day we are heading to legacy mall in Plano and my favorite hidden gem outside mall Watters Creek at Montgomery. And of course we would make a trip to Dallas’s art district to visit Laura Rathe Fine Art. She’s just as amazing and beautiful as the art in her gallery with the best staffers and visiting company. Then we would invite my good friends out for a coffee at Merit Coffee to go and pair with a donut from Wow Donuts.! They have the softest and freshest glaze donuts. Getting back in he spirit of a good adventure I would head to Paper City Dallas on IG for what I call a Stina’s scroll, select and go adventure around North Dallas. Our week would end visiting The Potter’s House Dallas for Sunday morning service before heading back home and ending the trip with a see you later hug.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been so blessed to have a village of great friends and family that encouraged me and showed me love in so many ways. My mother, Nana, Gerald, Tory, Johnnie, Cheryl, The Woman’s Clinic, my e- churches, Pastor Duncan and so many of my other family and friends. They all deserve a shoutout and so much more. My background is in finance, but I am motivated by love and not so much money. Their love, support and collaborations with me on some projects to make my visions an goals a reality is greater than money.
