Meet Christian Harper | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christian, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I have many end goals that I planned on achieving throughout my time, but I would say the end goal is to live a beautiful and long life. When it’s all said and done, I want to look back at my life and smile because I have no regrets.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I mainly capture portraits, fashion editorials, and all types of events within the Dallas scene. I also specialize in collage work using all types of mediums, and have done a little work with multiple forms of art. I like to think of my art as a direct translation of my emotions and my ideas, as if you went into my mind and pulled out everything I was feeling and put it in an image or on a canvas. I use art to express myself in ways that words cannot. What makes me different from others? My determination and adaptability. I have lots of ambition and I don’t like to give up on anything. Even if it means leaving it alone for a while and coming back, I’ll find a way to succeed. I’m also very willing to learn and change, allowing me to constantly evolve. These traits are the main reason why I’m where I’m at today! Proper networking and trusting the process lead me in the right direction. Of course, it’s been a tough journey so far. There have been many times where I get creatively frustrated and want to quit all together, but I know I can’t do that. When things get tough I just have to remind myself that I’m human and I’m doing the best I can, and that is enough. One big lesson I’ve learned is that if you stay true and honest to yourself, and if you just keep trying, no matter what you’ll achieve your goals. If I wanted the world to know anything about me, is that before I leave this earth I’m going to leave a positive influence
towards everyone in the world, and create something beautiful that provides everyone with solace.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely have to hit Downtown. Being the art nerd that I am I would take them to the Dallas Museum of Art for sure. Maybe chill out at Klyde Warren Park, or go see a show in Deep Ellum. If they love sushi as much as I do we definitely hitting Deep Sushi. Serious Pizza is tight too, especially after a concert.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout my momma! She has always been my biggest supporter and she has worked so hard to help me with my life and my career. All throughout my life she has pushed me to do better, whether it’s school, my art, anything. I wouldn’t be where I am without her love.
