Meet Chris Gutierrez | Head Trainer Elevated Canine DFW

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Gutierrez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to help dog owners with their dogs in order to have more enjoyable relationships with them. I also knew that with a well behaved dog I could prevent them from ending up in a shelter or rescue. Lastly, I wanted to have autonomy over my own schedule and to provide a lifestyle that I want and could enjoy.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the head trainer for Elevated Canine DFW the beginning of a Franchise for the Elevated Canine Academy company out of Southern California. We help all breeds, age and size of dogs. Everything from basic and advance obedience to sport protection and behavior modification. We keep a sport style flash in all of our pet dog training which creates a fun and engaging relationship between dogs and there humans.
I am most excited to help share my dog training knowledge not only with dog owners but also with younger trainers looking to expand their skills.
I got where I am today after 6 years of being mentored and 2 years of working for two different companies to continue honing my skills as a trainer. Also figuring out on my own and via YouTube university how to start a business and run and a business, and a lot of blood sweat and tears. Things have not always been easy, but through perseverance, determination and clear goals I have help get through the inevitable troubles that come with life and business ownership. My faith and family keep me grounded and the success and happiness that my clients bring me when they improve their relationships with their dogs is what keeps me going day after day.
If there is one thing I want the world to know about the Elevated Canine DFW brand is that we truly care for our clients and their furry friends. Also that a well behaved dog is infinitely more enjoyable than one that doesn’t listen and we can help bridge the gap between human and dogs and find a better way to live with their dogs that improves quality of life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely have them checkout the Fort Worth Stockyards, down town Dallas and Fort Worth. Food wise they have to go with Texas BBQ so a trip to Hutchins BBQ or Goldie’s is a must!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I would like to thank God for all the opportunities his presented me in my life. Secondly, my wife and family for supporting me every step of the way as I build a business that can help completely support our family. Third, my mentor in dog training, who without his guidance and mentorship I would not be half the trainer I am today. Lastly, my friend Oscar Mora who gave me an opportunity to help grow and expand his dog training company Elevated Canine Academy and expand into the markets of Dallas / Fort Worth.
