Meet Chris Botvidson: Agency Owner & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Botvidson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We made the decision to start Float & Sting Marketing to focus on video production and social media advertising because we have a passion for creating quality video content, and social media campaigns were generating strong leads and sales for our clients. We were running our previous agency, Ascend Concepts, and we were finding that running a full-service agency was becoming more and more draining. As we became more proficient in video production and were finding success running social media campaigns for our clients, we decided to become more niche and focus on these services. There is a growing demand for video content for companies of all sizes, and social media advertising on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok get phenomenal returns on ad spend when done well. So at the end of the day, we get to focus on things that we are passionate about, and that is creating engaging and effective video content, and helping our clients grow. 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Float & Sting Marketing can execute your creative video content AND your social media campaigns. This sets us apart from other digital marketing agencies or video production companies. There are a multitude of creative video production companies out there, but do they understand Facebook’s algorithms or take the time to hone in and dissect your target audiences? And there are certainly no shortage of digital marketing agencies, but do they have the creative chops to produce high quality content that will live up to your brand standards? Our entire team, from producers, videographers, and editors to paid social media specialists; collaborate to produce effective social media advertising campaigns that are focused on results.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Float & Sting office is located on S. Main Street in Fort Worth, in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood. There are phenomenal restaurants, breweries, bars, live theaters, art galleries, and local shopping all within walking distance. You could have an amazing date night without leaving a 3 block area. You could kick off with a cocktail at Wishbone & Flynt or a craft brew at Hop Fusion, then head over to Tinie’s for some fine Mexican cuisine. You can catch a play at Amphibian Theatre or Stage West, then catch some live music at Shipping & Receiving Bar. If you are still going, you can stop by Tarantula Tiki Bar for a nightcap. Don’t worry about driving, because you are a short Lyft away from a hotel stay. If you aren’t familiar with the Near Southshide neighborhood in Fort Worth, look into it. It is a very cool place to hang out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The first person that I want to give a shout out to is my wife, Leslie. She is the strongest person I know. She is also a successful entrepreneur, and she is an amazing human being. I have an awesome team in place that creates amazing work, and keeps things on track. I am so lucky to be surrounded by such talented and dedicated people. And all of the clients that we have had over the years deserve a HUGE thanks. Without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. I also need to include a shoutout to Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO). The relationships and the knowledge that I have gained by being involved in EO have been priceless. I highly recommend anyone who is serious about scaling their business become involved in EO.
