Meet Chovani Wright | Owner of Jar Sweets

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chovani Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chovani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My whole life food has been a major part of me growing up. I was raised in Panamanian and West indian household where food was always made with love and fresh ingredients. Cooking with my father growing up nurtured my love for food and desserts. From there i became passionate about baking and making desserts for my family and friends. So one day i thought how can i spread my love for desserts with others and from that blossomed my dessert business Jar Sweets.

What should our readers know about your business?
Jar Sweets is my little baby. We started 2015 and from there we have been flourishing in the dessert world. It took some dedication and consistency for Jar Sweets to be the business we are now which was not easy at all. Lets face it entrepreneurship is one of the hardest things to do. But when u have a passion for something and your creative baking brain is always on, you can’t help but to keep going. From coming up with new recipes to staying on trend with whats popular. We have had so many accomplishments in our business. What set us apart from the others is we pride ourself on making everything in house. We are a homemade dessert making business. Every single thing is made from scratch with hands that love baking and dessert making. Along the way i have learn so much in business, myself an being an entrepreneur. When you are running a business everyone doesn’t understand the vision or the goal you are trying to meet. So in this jounery i have learned to trust the vision and to always stay the course until you have accomplished your goal. Jar Sweets motto is “We are here to make your day sweet” that motto is what live, move and stand by. Our goal is to bring happiness, joy,and delight to every single one of our customers hoping that we make there day sweet with every single bite.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love doing adventurous things. I would say first we roam downtown Fort Worth maybe go see the Water Garden. Then eat at Pappudeauxs that my favorite place to eat food and drinks are always great. For that evening do a drive in movie at Coyote drive in. Then for the next couple days we are going to my home town Dallas/Cedar hill. Dallas has so much to offer. At the top of the day we are defiantly going to North Park mall to shop and see all he high end stores. Then get some eats somewhere in Trinity Groves. In the evening go hand out at Clyde Warren Park cuz they also have something going on there and it a whole vibe with food truck etc.The Pertol Museum,Six Flags, wine tasting is just a cool and interactive places to go also.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to my husband and my family
I wouldn’t have the creativity and skill if it wasn’t for my family. Everything i know comes from my upbringing and culture and for that I’m forever grateful.
To my husband your love, support and encouragement has been the force to keep me going. Jar Sweets wouldn’t even be a thing without you I love you.
