Meet Chesley Rogers | Nail Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chesley Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chesley, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal is to open my own successful salon/bar and a nail school to teach other women to do nails and help them open up their own businesses as well.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I specialize in acrylic nails, gel press on and acrylic press on nails. I am best at doing ombre, marble, and encapsulated nails. I am learning to get better at hand painted designs which can be a bit challenging at times. Doing nails at first wasn’t easy. I had a hard time getting clients and staying consistent. At times I thought maybe doing nails wasn’t for me. But I knew I was put here to do something with art, and doing nails was what I really enjoyed doing. After finishing my 600 hours to gain my license I felt so accomplished and tried to stay consistent as much as possible. Staying on top of trends on social media helped me stay consistent and posting my work. I started to gain more clients. I’ve learned that consistency is key when it comes to being a nail tech.

My business name is Synfulnailz. I got the name from my middle name, which is “Synquis”. I then added a little twist to make it more for art and nails so I came up with Synfulnailz. I always look forward to my clients posting pics and representing my business name. It makes me feel so grateful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m actually a big introvert so I really like to do low key activities like have game night at my home or cook a nice dinner and eat on the balcony, maybe with some music. Watch scary movies or comedy movies.. I might seem boring lol. But……… if we are talking a long week trip we would go to a nice bar with good food in Dallas. I enjoy the Deep Ellum area. Stirr was a nice restaurant. We would also catch a Dallas cowboy’s game or a Dallas Mavericks game.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I couldn’t have made it this far without my family. I really appreciate them for supporting me and my business. I want to also thank my boyfriend for always helping me and supporting my business. I appreciate you. I want to give a special shoutout to my son Cj. He understands that my hard work is all for him. He even help clean up after clients leave and help with design ideas to show his support. I appreciate him so much❤.
