We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Diamond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My career path has been filled with many ups and downs. A lot of trial and error has gone into figuring out what direction I should go and what the best job for me is. I started Soirees by Diamond out of my love for planning and decorating events. I love bringing people together and celebrating life’s special moments with others. I love making people feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Community is important to me, and what better way to bring people together than by hosting events? That’s the core of why I started my business, being able to be creative with decor and design is an added bonus. This is only the beginning of my business journey, and I am learning so much and can see how much my life has changed since the beginning of this year.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. I have a unique eye when it comes to decor and styling. It shows not only in the events that I plan, but also my home decor and even through my fashion. I can see an idea in my head and instantly want to bring it to life. My career path has not been easy. It’s been filled with ups and downs. There’s been a lot of wins and a lot of mistakes in my professional journey. This isn’t my first run at entrepreneurship, I used to plan events as a side business several years ago. And I also had a podcast. I was also in the auto-finance industry for almost 11 years before deciding to pursue Soirees by Diamond. I overcome challenges by keeping my faith and believing in myself and all that God has in store for me. And I also lean on my community. I’ve had to make decisions to reevaluate and redirect myself so that I can get to where I am now. The biggest lesson that I’ve learned along the way, is that there isn’t just one way to get to where I want to go. I haven’t always been fond of the process, but lately I’ve become more intentional about enjoying the process and celebrating all of my wins whether big or small. I want people to know that it’s not too late to pursue your dreams. I want people to know that they have everything that they need to get started on their dream. Whatever your dream is, take a step to get started and continue to build on that. I want my story and my brand to be an inspiration to others. This is only the beginning and I’m just getting started.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a concert and sports girlie, so if there’s a concert or a basketball game happening, we’re going! We’re hitting Fort Worth- Sundance Square and West 7th Street. Plano- we’re hitting up Kai in the Legacy West area. The food is amazing there. There’s also other restaurants and retail stores in the area that we can walk around and visit as well. We’d also visit the neighboring cities of The Colony and Frisco. And of course, I have to plan something adventurous for us to do like bike riding or zip lining. And we’d go on a boat cruise at Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall. The view is amazing! And we’d end the visit with a relaxing spa day. So a good combination of brunch, dinner, adventure and relaxation will make for a great time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! I am surrounded by an amazing community of family and friends. My mom and dad deserve all the recognition. I wouldn’t be where I am without their love and support. My two brothers- I couldn’t imagine life without those two. My nieces and nephew whom I love and adore dearly. And a host of other relatives, friends, and my Freedom Church family. I wish I could name everyone, but the list is far too long. And I also want to give a special shout out to Randi Yarrell with Rae Lawson Events- it’s been such a pleasure learning from her. I am truly blessed and grateful to have such amazing people in my life.
