We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a creative content professional, you have to always be meeting and exceeding expectations or else people will unsubscribe and unfollow. The way you stay creative is to find your voice/niche, stay true to yourself and your beliefs, and people who align with your values will follow! The challenging part about content creation is that some days you just don’t feel creative at all! There are a lot of distracting things in everyday life that will try to steal your attention from being creative. Sometimes, those mundane not-so-noteworthy things end up being the best content for writing!

When I started out, I hadn’t found my voice yet. Finding my voice was actually quite difficult because I always looked at what other successful people were doing. I thought, “Well, it’s working for them so that’s obviously what I have to do.” Oh, how wrong I was! Readers can tell when you’re not being authentic… I just didn’t know that at the time. When you aren’t writing what speaks to YOUR heart, you won’t find joy in writing and creating.

Along the way, I’ve also learned that being kind to all, staying true to yourself, and just going with the flow is how to be successful. Some days are easy-peasy while other days are quite difficult. Just do the best you can and give yourself grace.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
More than likely, said friend will have a dog or two with her! We will obviously need to hit up the best dog parks in the DFW and most likely these meetups will need to be documented… which means a quick dog park trip will turn into a full blown Dogs of Instagram meet up! Yes, it’s totally a thing. After the dog park we will have to hit up our favorite dog-friendly brunch spots. Some of the best, dog-friendly patios, reside in Dallas. After we eat until we’re full, we will have to work it off with a hike at one of DFW’s many nature parks! And that’s just the first day! More than likely we’re working on blog posts, DIY dog recipes, and finding the trendiest places to take photos for Instagram.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize the dog blogger community as a whole. We have so many supportive women in the dog blog world and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their constant friendship and support! This is truly an inclusive and supportive group of women! We love to celebrate each other’s successes and cheer each other on.
