We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef-Lo(Angelo) Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef-Lo(Angelo), we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly I was finally fed up with jobs rejecting me and telling me that I am under or over qualified, and the thought of having to ask someone for a day off or if I can use the restroom never sat well with me. I finally accepted the fact that I was born, created, to do my own thing and introduce the world to the gifts that GOD has blessed me with through imagination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I consider myself an Artist of food because food truly is a major a ART of Life. Anything worth having surely will not come easy, I can honestly say the hardest part was to let go of my fears and truly let GOD order my steps. I thank GOD daily for my imagination, I truly believe that not enough people tune into their imaginations, it truly is a gift from the MOST HIGH. I learned the importance of not being afraid to separate myself from those who don’t see themselves expanding and trying new things and reaching new heights. Elevation requires separation. One of the major keys to success is to change your environment. Many people doubted me when I first started my journey. For a while I was discouraged but I remembered that people fear what they are scared to try so they try to instill that fear in you. I am now a firm believer that fear is often times our bestfriend and if we really take the time to get to know that bestfriend it has everything we’ve ever wanted out of life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely one of the staples in the Fort Worth area is The Purple Frog located by TCU. They the best drinks, service and food for American style dinning. There is also the Water Gardens, Botanical Gardens, Science Museum and the night life on 7th Street is second to none. The best thing about Fort Worth is that we have the #1 ranked zoo! I used to work there back in high school and I’ve loved it ever since. Fort Worth is not to far from Arlington which is home of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags over Texas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several people that I owe a lot of credit to as my Wife, Son, Mom, Brother, Sister, Grandmother and my long time childhood friends. There is one person in particular who has played a major part in my development as a Man and as a Human. That person is my Father, Pastor Keith W. Foster Sr. This past April 2021 my Father whom I’m forever grateful I had the honor to call him my Dad as well gained his eternal rest. It’s rare that most are able to say that their Father was/is also their Dad, unfortunately a lot of times not many people have the honor to say they are one in the same. The one thing that I’ve always admired most about him is that he never made any excuses as to why he couldn’t handle his responsibilities as a Father, Husband and Pastor. I never had to grow up wondering where he was or if he was coming home or not because he always willingly came home. He showed me that as a Black Man that with the right mind set anything is possible, and as long as you keep your faith in GOD as well as putting that faith in action all things are possible. This one is truly for you Pops! I love you and I will continue to handle my business 0n this side UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN….remember energy never dies it transfers.
