Meet Chef Deb Oxman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef Deb Oxman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chef Deb, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At Savor Culinary Services, we believe that food has the power to heal, connect, and uplift. Our mission is rooted in using whole food nutrition to improve the lives of individuals and families — especially those facing chronic illness, cancer, or unique dietary needs. Through personalized, chef-driven meals, we help our clients feel supported and nourished.
Beyond our clients, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the broader community by:
Providing employment opportunities for culinary professionals who share our passion for wellness and purpose-driven service.
Sourcing ingredients locally and sustainably, supporting small farms and regional food producers.
Reducing food waste through mindful planning and responsible kitchen practices.
Donating chef services and complimentary catering to charitable events and organizations that uplift our community. These include:
March of Dimes
The Beastro at the Fort Worth Zoo
Ronald McDonald House
Food Philanthropy
A Wish with Wings
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
Empty Bowls
Tarrant County Food Bank
65 Roses for Cystic Fibrosis
Whether it’s through a healing meal or community event, we are proud to use our culinary expertise to create positive social impact — one plate at a time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I founded Savor Culinary Services in 2002, and Chef Deb Coaching in 2014. Today, Savor is an award-winning company that provides weekly personalized meals, catering and in-flight catering across the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and Chef Deb Coaching is a thriving coaching business that works with established food service, product business owners and CEOs across North America and the U.K.
I was originally a licensed physical therapist, but was inspired to switch careers after my son was diagnosed with high functioning autism and severe ADHD at age two that I found were improved (and triggered) by his diet. Two decades later, Savor has now worked with thousands of clients, won numerous awards, and remains dedicated to providing healthier ways for clients to enjoy the foods they love.
I trained at the Culinary Institute of America, the Culinary Business Academy and the Culinary School of Fort Worth. I’m a long-time member of USPCA (United States Personal Chef Association) and of IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals). I have owned seven culinary businesses, including a catering company, personal chef businesses, restaurants, and food product companies.
I consider myself a serial culinary business owner for more than 20 years. I’m also the author of So You’re a Chef Now What? And the co-author of Volume 1 and Volume 2 of Behind Their Brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Welcome to Texas!
We’d kick things off with brunch at The Henry in Dallas.. Afterward, we’d stroll through the Dallas World Aquarium.
Day 2: Cowtown Charm
Fort Worth! Coffee at Sons of Liberty Coffee and then to the Stockyards. We’d wrap up the day with cocktails at The Amber Room and dinner at 61 Osteria.
Day 3: Art & Architecture
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and lunch at Café Modern, followed by the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. That night, dinner would be at Lonesome Dove Western Bistro.
Day 4: Waco Day Trip
A day trip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market and lunch at Magnolia Table.
Day 4: Local Luxe & Shopping
Day 5: Shopping at Highland Park Village and facials or blowouts at The Joule Spa in Dallas. Dinner would be on the rooftop at Catbird.
Day 6: Live Music & Late Night Bites
We would have brunch at Don Artemio and later dancing at Billy Bob’s Texas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had some of the most amazing mentors along the way. My husband always provided an incredible platform that helped to accomplish anything. I have had the amazing mentors along way including Allison Maslan and Marshal Doyle. My children have always cheered me on and have been one of the many reasons why both of my companies were created — to give them the life I wanted them to have.
