We had the good fortune of connecting with Chazmin Fullwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chazmin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
God is the most important factor behind my success. Without Him I truly wouldn’t be where I’m at today. He has continued to bless me even when i feel i’m not worthy of the blessings. He has allowed me to be who I am and gain the clients I have today. I thank God for all of my clients. They aren’t regular clients at all! They come they pay, they support, they post, they tell friends and family. I pray my clients continue to be blessed as they are a blessing to me.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
BossC Lashes is a Black Owned business that provides lash extensions with a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I started lashing in 2017 in my college dorm room. I was a college athlete running track at Norfolk State University. I started out doing my teammates lashes and it took off from there. As I’m doing lashes on campus in Virginia, I’m also getting exposure and recognition in my hometown of New York. Once I graduated college and came home It took no time for me to get set up.
It was not easy to get BossC Lashes off the ground. It took a lot of hard work and dedication. I worked so hard to perfect my craft. In the beginning I even started timing myself to see how long I would take to do a set. One thing I didn’t want to do was have my clients laying on my lash bed for hours.
The lessons I have learned along the way is to stay focused on my own lane. Run my race. Nobody else’s but mine. When you focus on what other people are doing that may be doing the same thing as you, you can start to miss the blessings and the joy of your journey. I have also learned to always remain professional no matter what. Stick to your policies and guidelines even when you’re afraid of how clients may react and feel. As long as you give respect you’ll get respect. The last lesson I have learned is when you’re blessed enough to bless others make sure you do so. As I continue to learn and grow in this Lash game i’m going to continue to teach and pour into other young ladies willing to learn.
I want the world to know that BossC Lashes is more than just lashes. Anyone can apply lash extensions but everyone can’t uplift you, make you feel respected , make you feel heard and appreciated. I want everyone to who comes in to my lash studio to know that they are loved, beautiful, and appreciated.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week long trip with a friend that was visiting from out of town? Okay boom! Day 1 would be brunch in Brooklyn at Verde on Smith St. Bottomless mimosas for an hour? Can’t beat that. After that let’s take a ride to the city and go to the Summit One Vanderbilt. There’s great scenery and esthetics for amazing pictures. You know we need pictures. Then we would end the day with dinner at Sei Less

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout two people. My boyfriend Edwin Lee Jr and my best friend Demaxia Wray. Without God and the two of them I would’ve gave up a long time ago. My boyfriend and best friend have supported me from day 1. My best friend was actually my live model the day I took my lash class. I have gained life long clients and friends because the two of them have supported my business whether through word of mouth or social media. I can honestly say they support my business and care about my business so much just like it is their own.
