We had the good fortune of connecting with Chassity Finney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chassity, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Quitting my job was one of the hardest decisions that I’ve ever had to make. Financially I was in a place where I wanted to save money. Ultimately I thought it would hurt me, especially without consistent income such as a 9-5. Anyone can say they can run a business but that’s just the first part, verbalizing it. Putting your plans into action is a whole different ballgame. I quit my job on faith alone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a reflection of myself. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I don’t try to emulate other people. I am most excited about where my business is going! Charmed By Chassity Cosmetics has been in business for under 1 year and has already reached 12 states across the U.S. One lesson that I’ve learned along the way is that strangers are your biggest supporters. All of my products are cruelty-free, made of natural ingredients, and smell delicious! The velvety smooth lip glosses are extremely pigmented and the matte lipsticks lasts up to 12 hours!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, I would recommend staying at The Statler Hotel located in Downtown Dallas. We could eat, drink, relax on the rooftop and enjoy the vibes. The Klyde Warren Park is also located downtown. There is where you can walk and visit numerous different restaurants, bars, or food trucks if that’s your thing. For the “night life” I’d say Vinetti’s for the win. Their good drinks, food, and music will definitely make you want to come back and visit!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All praises go to God! God gives me strength to continue to push and strive because this journey isn’t the easiest. I’d also like to thank the people he’s placed into my life who have played major roles during my make up & cosmetic career. From the people who helped me keep up with orders before my website, to the people who provided feedback on consumer products. I am grateful.
