We had the good fortune of connecting with Chassidy Guidry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chassidy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking a risk is giving yourself an opportunity to learn and grow. Taking risks and acting on faith in God, have allowed me to go after opportunities to elevate my skills and my company.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own and manage The Law Office of Chassidy J. Guidry, PLLC, a boutique estate planning law firm in Dallas, Texas. I have a passion for helping first generation planners and wealth builders. I find joy and pride in helping to ensure that a person’s assets are set up to pass to the next generation in the smoothest way possible.

I am also the author of the book “In God’s Image,” a book that journeys through scripture with focus on the power of women’s stories, aimed to inspire and encourage women.

Starting a law firm and working as a solo practitioner comes with its challenges such as time management, utilizing technology, and effectively implementing processes to reach clients and meet their needs.

Throughout my entrepreneurial experience, I have learned to pivot, be innovative, and to take advantage of professional development opportunities. I have also learned to continuously show up for myself and to be my biggest advocate.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for a week, we would probably start with lunch or dinner at Gloria’s. Gloria’s is a go to spot, and it’s a great place to grab a meal and catch up with a friend. We would go to the African American Museum of Dallas and check out any shows playing at the Music Hall at Fair Park. There are some great dining options in Uptown for us to visit, and you cannot really enjoy a trip to Dallas without shopping. NorthPark and Legacy West in Plano would be on the list. There are also many great churches to visit for Sunday worship.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is my biggest support system. I am a first-generation attorney and entrepreneur. Even though my path seems uncharted, my family always steps in to support and encourage me along the way. They refer clients, market my services and products, and most importantly, they motivate me to keep going when the journey gets tough.
