Meet Chanel Lilly | Interior Designer & Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Lilly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chanel, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance is constantly changing. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to be content with not always functioning at 100%. There’s some days, I’m the most ambitious, task dominating business owner, while I’m slacking on my workouts at the gym. There’s other days where I try to be more intentional at pouring into the relationships and friendships in my life, but I’m not giving myself the care and attention I need. As long as I’m aware of this, and make an effort to modify things in my life as needed, to achieve “balance” I think I’m doing alright.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Interiors by Chanel is an experience. When you work with me, you are being provided a luxury service – and I will treat you with that level of care and accommodation. I’m most proud of the rebrand I’m currently working on. I have huge plans to unveil an online home decor retail shoppe, an art and design blog, and a complimentary online design portal for clients to learn styling tips and fundamentals. I am beyond ecstatic to launch these new additions to the brand. Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. I always knew I loved design, and working with people but never really took the time to buckle down and apply that to a career. – that is until the past few years. I’ve learned that true long term success doesn’t happen over night. Time, energy, and attention to detail is vital. My interior design firm isn’t going to be just that, it’s potential is so much bigger than that. I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve the home they’ve always desired.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love going to City Works at the Frisco Star to watch Cowboys games – they have amazing smoked wings. Eight11 in Frisco is also a fav spot to chill, listen to live music, and enjoy their extensive wine menu. The Colony Grandscapes area is always a good time. Lots of restaurants with amazing drinks, and always something going on there.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My support system is definitely my parents, my sister Tammye (who is also my best friend), and my boyfriend Arman. They don’t always understand my vision, but they are always there to encourage and support however they can.
