We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanel Gresham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process of starting my own business was because I didn’t want to work a 9-5 until retirement, but I also wanted to provide jobs for the creative mind. I also wanted to provide a way for people to grow if they want to start their own business from what they have learned through working with me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Starting any business is easy until you dive deep into the process. There is so much to unfold when starting a business, but I continued to research and read to ensure I was headed in the right direction. I overcame challenges, by leaning on my community of designers/business owners. I also set obtainable goals that I could reach with the knowledge I had and as I acquired more information I made the goals a little harder. I have learned to stay the course. You may have to change they strategy, but the goal remains the same. I also learned that everything takes time. To stay consistent and stay in prayer along the journey. I want the world to know that this just another brand. It is a brand made from love and with the people in mind.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not from Nashville and I am still learning some of the sweet spots in the city.

I would definitely take my friend to the African American Music Museum, take her to assembly hall, farmers market and possibly a few comedy shows or concerts in town.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
