We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaim Litvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chaim, what do you attribute your success to?
There are many factor that I would have to attribute any success to. First, I would have to credit my amazing wife for her unwavering support and encouragement throughout this journey. Additionally, determination and grit are not just great characteristics to be blessed with but looking back they have played a key role in getting to where I am.

If you are looking for a tip or secret I would have to add the principle of treating others how you would want to be treated, fostering positive relationships. Also, delivering a quality product in a beautiful package at an affordable price definitely helps.

Above all else though, I would have to attribute the brands success to my faith in God. It is my faith that has provided me with guidance, strength, and a sense of purpose throughout this journey.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BourbonRabbi started very organically and grew beyond all expectations. Beginning nearly 20 years ago as a kosher auditor, certifying the majority of kosher bourbons. Eventually with the bourbon industry knowledge base amassed over more than a decade lectures on bourbon, bourbon tastings and bourbon themed team building exercises where added. After being prompted by fans across the world the BourbonRabbi Bourbon line was created in addition to a merch store. With the success of the flagship bourbon, a 115 proof straight bourbon whiskey and the encouragement of so many, a honey aged bourbon was added and then a cabernet sauvignon finished bourbon was added as well. The brand is growing rapidly and entering new markets constantly, with products in Kentucky, Tennessee, New York, New Jersey, and Texas, with Georgia and Florida set to receive product in the second half of 2024. In addition to that we are able to ship bourbon to almost every state in the country.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great spots and I really enjoy showing people around. When coming here for a visit there are some must see places outside of bourbon like the Louisville Slugger Museum and Churchill Downs but distillery hoping on the bourbon trail is why millions of people travel to Kentucky each year. I like to break it up into a few zones. Day 1 – Louisville, start of at Peerless Distilling Company and then head east on Main st. You will have an abundance of options passing some great spots like The Fraizer History Museum, Michters, Old Forester as well as two of my favorites Rabbit Hole and The Evan Williams Experience. Day 2 I would head south, Bardstown the bourbon capitol of the world. Stop at Jim Beam on the way down and then head to Heaven Hill. You have Willet just across the way and plenty of options in the area. If you go a little further south you could even visit Boundary Oak Distillery. Day 3 I would go east. Starting of with Bulliet in Shelbyville and continuing east toward Lexington you can stop at Woodford Reserve and Four Roses. If you have the time or want to swap out day 3 with a little more adventure go west! Start off at Green River in Owensboro and then head down to Hopkinsville where you can visit Casey Jones and M B Roland.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The friendship of some of the greats in the bourbon industry was pivotal in getting me to where I am. Master Distillers like Parker Beam, Brent Goodin and Caleb Kilburn taught me more then most people care to know. Being able to lean on them and others like Dave Scheurick and so many other amazing people in the industry is a real privilege that is not lost on me.
