We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Alberto Sarria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos Alberto, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is in my DNA. Without taking risks I would not have been the man I am today! This topic is one that I have so much passion speaking about. It is vital to take risks, to learn something new and to experience things you have not done before!! With my career, I took the risk to not apply for anymore jobs and stopped taking interviews from companies, and chose to start my dog grooming business. From home, self-taught, I crafted these hands to scissor and trim, and gently handle all beautiful dog breeds, from puppies to seniors! My experience continues to grow and my vision for my business will soar, all due to taking risks!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I lost my way growing up, chose to do what all the cool kids were doing and totally focus on fun without any passion about what I really want in life. Mistakes after mistakes, living complete insanity. My biggest and proudest moment for myself was when I decided to change my focus. Recognize my patterns, and break through them! I’ve always had heart, a strong heart. I just had to change my focus and I did just that. I found my passion in dog grooming. Being able to provide a service to my community of dogs and dog owners! Be for the people, and especially animals has always been a drive for me. But being a dog groomer absolutely has its challenges, from anxious and frightened dogs that cannot control themselves to handicap dogs that need assistance and someone alert. I have done what it takes to provide the best possible service to these amazing and beautiful animals and to make them feel the best they have ever felt. I have learned that all dogs need tender, love and care and if I’m able to do that for them I will give them my all! I want the world to know that my presence is a force for good and I am here to help. Thank you for your time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to come into town, he’d be eating real good! Because I sure love to eat good on the daily! First night in, me and my boy would go shoot some pool at a cool sports bar in Haltom City, TX called Overtime, with the amazing burgers and wings!! Round up the troops of course because that’s our go-to spot, and since my best friend, Ryan Hendon, is a music producer and my otha brotha from anotha motha, David, is a freestyler they would clique. Oh yeah! And we all love to shoot pool, so thats a must. A fun first night, then the rest of the week I’d be taking my homie around to meet my incredible and full of beautiful energy fam and eat amazing Colombian food, all week long! Dont worry, you can’t get tired of my family nor Colombian food, especially homemade! I’d be so excited to show Ryan my business and share how impactful my business has been for me. Ryan as well would turn around and hit me with the top secret about his passion, Music. We would make it a great week, and plan out the future that lies ahead!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my family, I give a huge shoutout!! My mother for her powerful love and brilliance that always had me thinking of the possibilities of being an entrepreneur. My father, my hero; toughest and strongest love our bond can never be broken. My father taught me family is everything, and he fills me with motivation every time I think about him. And a major shoutout to my brother, my biggest inspiration. Without my brother I wouldn’t know the Love of God and to never lose Faith. The idea of becoming a dog groomer sparked at my brothers dining table in his new beautiful home in Virginia talking with my mother, my brother, sister-in-law and my one year old baby nephew, Oh what a night!! To my closest and dearest friend, you turned me into a better man, you turned my focus around and we have been such an amazing team together. Thank you all for the unconditional love and never-ending support, you all my reason why in life.
