Meet Carley Bearden: Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carley Bearden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carley, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When I feel like giving up, I think to myself, “Ive made it this far.” Why stop now? Its always going to pop in my mind. Theres always going to be something that makes me feel like I should quit, but then I think about all of my fans, all of the people in my life who have been inspired and moved by my music. My DMS are full of people telling me how much I help them get through their day. I never will quit, especially now.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve written poetry since I was 15, and even have a book of poetry I was planning on publishing when I turned 18. Never got to it, but dove head first into song writing around 15-16. I began learning Guitar and Piano by ear when I was younger, and that only enhanced my song writing as I got older. Coming from a smaller town, over the last few years Ive gained over 110K followers between Instagram, and Tok Tok. My fans find my social media as a safe zone, and thats the one thing I really wanted. A safe place for anyone to come to. I am so proud to be apart of a community who loves, accepts and supports anyone no matter what. I am so excited to further my career and the movement thats been started within this community and my music. I feel honored to be an influencer, and musician for the people who choose to follow and support me. I got here by hard work and strictly believing in my dreams. It’s very cliche, but anyone can reach their dreams. I was a college kid going into my junior year, and I dropped out. I knew I was meant to be creative, and I knew I was meant to do music and use my social media to spread the word. I simply knew I wouldn’t last in school, so I took the leap. It was absolutely terrifying, but when you know deep down you will succeed, you will. I promise. And no, it was not easy. It’s been mentally, physically, and emotionally draining, but thats only fueled the fire. Everyday, as HUMANS, we have to overcome obstacles and challenges, and you can either work harder, or give up, and giving up is never an option. The lessons Ive learned, about the industry is to literally NEVER GIVE UP! It’s the golden rule. Within the industry, theres many broken promises. And you hear the word “No”, more than yes. The one thing I learned is to keep going. I believe in me, and that is all that matters. I want the world to know that I stand for the good things in life, for anyone, no matter who you are. The Carley Bearden brand is all inclusive.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
– I would take them to Klyde Warren Park to hit the food trucks, they’re amazing! And its such a cute little spot to just relax. -We’d head over to Rainbow Vomit, the CUTEST optical illusion museum in Dallas. So much fun and such a great experience. – We could go to the Deep Ellum Brewing company, relax and just have a great evening with food and drinks. All in all, Dallas is such a fun area to hangout in, especially Deep Ellum. Being an artist I love all the little bars, restaurants and vintage shops around. Its a great time!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh, where do I even begin. First I wanted to recognize my personal manager Solomon. He changed my life, and was the first person who literally forced me on stage when I had terrible state freight. He’s always there for me and has been overstep of the way. I’d also like to shout out my girlfriend Jasmine, and my family. They’ve really been my biggest support system. Through smiles and tears, they’re always boosting me and remind me of why I do what I do.
