Meet Carisha Davis | Artist and Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carisha Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carisha, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Never give up and just keep going. This is not an easy feat; nor is it for the faint at heart. You have to get up every single day and choose to keep your brand going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The goal with every painting and design that comes out of Carisha Davis Art and Design is that no matter where it is going or who it is going to, it should leave that space, that collector or that observer better than before. Art should shift the atmosphere and gazes, and my goal is that all of my work does just that. This year, 2025, marked 12 years that my business has been in operation. I started it while I was a public school teacher and coach, and put one foot in front of the other as best I could every step of the way. I did not have a single investor or the luxury of not working, so I had to build this business from the ground up. And because I believed in it so much, quitting was and has never been an option. You have to have an unbridled faith in your dream, as if you don’t believe in it, no one else will.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, I would show them the art scene in both Dallas and Fort Worth. The Modern in Fort Worth is one of my personal favorites.
Then, I would take them to Pottery for the People or Trade OakCliff to take one of their fun pottery or art classes.
Next, we would go hike and have a picnic at Cedar Hill State Park.
I would also take them to a broadway show and to some of my favorite coffee shops and spots to eat.
If it was basketball season, I would take them to a Wings or Mavs game.
