We had the good fortune of connecting with Camrin Scales and Kierstyn Olivas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Camrin, Kierstyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We are both mothers who live normal lives working and taking care of our babies. Some of the most exciting moments for us are celebrating them, as we know many mothers do. We’re great at planning ideas and being creative, so why not take advantage of that? Every one has a birthday, event, or party at some point, so we knew this was something we could excel at while continually generating business if we put everything into it. While brainstorming we had so many ideas on what we could potentially offer so we decided it was important to not close off our business name to one area of expertise, landing us on House Party Co. LUXE RENTALS, LLC.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We believe what sets us apart from others is our wide variety of rental opportunities. We’re basically a one stop shop for any party event, and if we don’t currently offer what you’re looking for, we will do our best to accommodate you! It’s not easy as we both have children, work, and deal with life’s obstacles, but we truly believe in and love what we do. We’ve spoken about the day that we can do party rentals for a living, or even expand to party planning as a whole. We overcome our challenges by taking time to organize and plan, taking time apart to focus on our personal lives, and brainstorming ideas together on how we can improve or change things moving forward. One thing we’ve learned is that we’re not always going to agree or get along. We have to give one another grace as we would want and that besides being best friends we have a business and brand that is important to us. In those times it’s important we come together, not create a space between ourselves. We think it’s important to let the world know, it’s possible. We are two mothers who have our own careers and lives… but when you believe in something, go after it. You don’t know until you try. That is what we’re doing with House Party Co. LUXE RENTALS, LLC.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely try do something that involves the kids… go down to Klyde Warren Park to have some fun and relax in the fresh air, grab some lunch at Mi Cocina and enjoy a mambo taxi, maybe get a pedicure or massage and catch up on life. We’re both big home bodies at this point in our life and careers so a more laid back, subtle time is our version of fun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We dedicate our shoutout to our sweet baby girls… Hazel and Charlie. Without the two of them, we would have never had the idea or opportunity. They inspire us and are our drive in everything that we do. Our families deserve a huge amount of recognition. As you can imagine, it’s not ideal to have little ones running around an event you’re preparing for. When we need help with watching our children, loading and transporting things, and creating new rental opportunities, there has always been someone to assist us and our ideas. They cheer us on and see how much we enjoy what we’re doing and they all know we want something greater for our children.
