We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Vitosh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
So far, the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was to quit college and jump full time into acting. This meant that I gave up my college football scholarship, walked away from my team mates (in which I was the starting WR, punt returner and kick returner), and I had to face my parents to tell them that I was quitting college in order to pursue my dream of becoming a full time actor.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got bit by the acting bug in 2019 when I filmed an Indie horror movie, Cryptids, that is set to come out by the end of this year or early next year. At this time I was still playing college football but once I finished shooting the movie, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. That summer, I enrolled in a local acting class and made some connections that led me to be invited to join Glenn Morshower’s acting class, The Extra Mile Workshop. Through this workshop, I have met some amazing people and have grown not only as an actor, but as an individual. This past year during COVID has been difficult for everyone, but I have seen great success so far. In fact, booking work during the COVID era is the only way that I know since I signed with my first agent June 2020. My agent has kept me pretty busy and I’ve been able to book commercials, movies and landed the co-star role of Todd on the CW Network’s TV show, Walker. In addition to landing the role on Walker, I have seen success booking a leading role in the movie, The Devils Ring, which is slated to come out the fall of 2021 and several commercials. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned so far is to not take rejection seriously. I understand that I’m not going to book every job that I audition for and I can accept that. I just keep prepared so when my name is called, I’ll be ready to answer and put on a performance. In fact, I can’t wait to show the world my talent and be the name that directors want for their project.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on when my friend visited, I would take them to a sports event, since Dallas has every major sport. As for food, and this may be a little biased because I am friends with the family of the owners, I would take them to eat at one of the best Tex Mex restaurants, Matt’s El Rancho. As for hanging out, Dallas is known for numerous night spots, I would just see what they were in to.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people who have always supported, loved and encouraged me are my parents and my family in whatever I do.
