We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Boyland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cameron, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The Bigger Picture’s focus on advocating for size inclusivity in men’s fashion has a profound social impact. By championing size diversity and inclusion, the business helps to build confidence, create opportunities, and raise awareness within the Big & Tall community. Through events like NYFW MENS+, The Bigger Picture not only showcases groundbreaking fashion but also sparks important dialogue within the industry, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and diverse fashion landscape.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our work at The Bigger Picture revolves around advocating for size inclusivity in menswear, particularly through events like the New York Fashion Week Men’s Plus.. What sets us apart is our dedication to providing opportunities for plus-size male models and influencers, which is a niche market that represents majority of U.S citizens considering that over 70% of all Americans are considered “Plus-Size.”

We’re proud of our commitment to creating a supportive community for plus-size male models, addressing the challenges they face in breaking into the industry. Organizing events like the “Big and Tall” flash mob and “The State of the Big and Tall Community” panel discussion allows us to amplify the voices of those advocating for size diversity.

Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. Breaking into the fashion industry as a plus-size male model can be challenging due to limited opportunities and lack of community support. However, we’ve overcome these challenges by creating our own platforms and events to showcase the talent and potential within the Big & Tall community.

Along the way, we’ve learned the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and creating a supportive network. We’ve also recognized the need for more community support and collaboration within the industry to foster greater inclusivity.

Ultimately, we want the world to know that our brand stands for more than just fashion. We’re advocates for positive change, striving to create a world where size inclusivity is celebrated and where everyone feels represented and empowered.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Certainly! Here’s a week-long itinerary for exploring Dallas with plus-size friendly activities included:

Start the week with hearty brunches at spots like Ellen’s Southern Kitchen and Bread Winners Cafe & Bakery, known for their generous portions and welcoming atmospheres. Explore cultural attractions such as the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas World Aquarium, where we can immerse ourselves in art and exotic marine life. Take leisurely strolls through scenic spots like Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Indulge in delicious meals at barbecue joints like Pecan Lodge and upscale restaurants like Fearing’s Restaurant, savoring the flavors of Texas cuisine. Shop ’til we drop at NorthPark Center, one of the largest and most upscale shopping malls in the country, and explore unique neighborhoods like the Bishop Arts District, filled with charming shops, galleries, and eateries.

Cool off with waterpark fun at Bahama Beach Waterpark, where we can enjoy water slides, lazy rivers, and wave pools. Experience the local music scene at venues like The Rustic and Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill, where we can enjoy live music and delicious food in a lively atmosphere.

For outdoor adventures, take a guided tour of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, home to America’s Team, and marvel at the history and culture of football in Texas. End our week with a memorable dinner cruise on Lake Carolyn, where we can enjoy stunning views of the city skyline while dining on delicious food.

Throughout the week, we’d prioritize activities and venues that offer comfortable seating and inclusive atmospheres for all body types, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely, credit should be given to not only The Bigger Picture, but the entire Big & Tall community including plus size male models and influencers for their collective efforts in promoting body positivity and advocating for size inclusivity in fashion. Their dedication and strides towards raising awareness highlight the importance of embracing diversity in all aspects of society, including fashion, where size limitations should not exist.
