We had the good fortune of connecting with Cam Petty Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me, building my business has always been about my customers and the ability to pick up and keep going even when this life of entrepreneurship can be ever-changing and oftentimes be a struggle. I’ve always lived by the mantra of “Make the next BEST decision” and that has always been the catalyst for how my business has grown and succeeded over the last decade!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Render is an inventive creative firm. We work with brands and individuals to provide comprehensive design and education resources. Our team takes it’s event, space, or mindset from your current state to an elevated, intentional, and efficient place. Located in Dallas, serving the worldwide community. Since 2010, producing events have been a feature of our brand. Initially beginning as a wedding planner, we’ve refined our offerings over the years and thousands of events later! In 2012, one of our wedding clients wanted to part with her DIY event decor and when she offered it up, we said yes and our rental extension, Beautiful Event Rentals, was created. As our clients requested other products, we grew our inventory bit by bit and dove right into renting inventory full-time. Eventually, we phased out of wedding planning and added floral design and styling all the while sharing our event expertise with our community. Though our event brand has evolved over the years, one thing has and always remains the same — providing intentional and exceptional service. For us, our client is always a top priority. It’s important to us that we elevate your brand’s story through design and thoughtful resources. Whether through hand-picked furniture, fabricated elements, intentional home design, or an e-course we are here to serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here in Dallas, TX, there’s always something to do! If I was showing a friend around town we would HAVE to go to Velvet Taco and indulge in their frozen margaritas and tacos first. Then we would head to either White Rock Lake to walk and catch up or Turtle Creek which are both so close to downtown, yet they give a serene outside of town feel. We’d have to drive around the city to show off some hot spots and history of the city!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Between mentors, business coaches, educators and leaders, associations, and the many opportunities to dive into, my business has been blessed by so many. National Association of Catering and Events has been a huge pivotal organization that has taught me and expanded my network through the years. The Hollis Co and the business opportunities to be educated and learn from has given me the tactics and tools to build a business. Amy Porterfield has been a mentor in how to give back to my students. My dad, Mike Petty has taught me while growing up and still how to build a business and be accountable. The team that stands next to me building a brand that not only blesses others but blesses the rest of the team and me. And all of the success I’ve built I have to give back to The Lord for blessing me every turn, dip, and victory!
