Meet Cam Patt | Music Producer, Artist & Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cam Patt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor would be authenticity. As a musician, there are so many talented people I come across that add a lot of value to this space, but there is only one me. It is important to me to be authentic to my true self so that I carve out my own lane without trying to replicate anyone else while still exhibiting a lot of my musical influences. I believe people gravitate more towards someone who is being their authentic selves no matter how different it may come across.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an actor, artist, and music producer that does hip hop, R&B, and lofi. My music is highly inspired by Pharrell, Timbaland and Scott Storch. While you can hear these influences in my music, I still strive to be as eclectic and versatile as possible as I grow as a musician. Music is an extremely competitive sport and comes with its own challenges. One of the biggest challenges being, cutting through. I am constantly and consistently working on my craft trying to grow and be the best I can at what I do and have learned a lot along the way. I love telling stories and painting pictures and for me; acting, melodies, and drums is my paint brushes and canvas.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas is a beautiful city with a lot to do. If it is a nice day with good weather, I typically like to be doing anything outside whether that’s going to a park like Klyde Warren Park, going downtown to the AT&T discovery district, or just going to a random park and riding bikes. I also enjoy going to Bishop arts district. There’s are a lot of really good shops and restaurants, plus it is a good place to walk around and explore.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my friends and family. My friends and family have been nothing short of supportive throughout my entire career and journey as an actor and musician. They always cheer me on and find ways to pick me up whenever I may feel discouraged.
