We had the good fortune of connecting with Cailey Suarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cailey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always loved taking photos and making moments last forever. I’m that person that has over 20,000 photos in their camera roll on their phone. My business started out as a hobby. I would take my mom’s camera, walk around the farm, and take pictures of any and everything. I wanted to try my thumb at taking my brothers senior pictures this year and that’s when I decided to buy my own camera and start my own business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think every photographer is different in their own way. I have a different style editing I like compared to others. I don’t just photograph families or just do mini sessions. My favorite sessions are livestock shows. I’m most excited in building lifelong relationships with past and future clients and giving back to the community. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today. I had a lot of hesitation and doubt when I first started. I had to have that leap of faith to get me where I am today. I believed in myself and that’s how I overcame my doubts.
I’ve learned it’s not that easy just picking up a camera and saying “I’m a photographer” there’s so much more behind the scenes. When I’m taking photos there’s like a little checklist going through my mind with a million things to check off when taking each photo.
I want the world to know I started this business as just a little hobby taking random pictures at home and I turned it into something so much more than that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d say we’d visit The Hub in Allen, The Grandscape in The Colony, especially Parry’s Pizza & The Puttery! We would go to downtown McKinney for the perfect night out on the town!
The Stix Icehouse is always a good favorite.
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve for a little evening walk
Rodeo Goat for the best burgers in Allen
And The Chop Shop on Wednesday for a little bit of karaoke!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my mom. It’s her creativity and strong drive that motivates me and lets me know I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to.
