We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittny Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Caramel + Honey was founded by two workout buddies, Kim & Brittny, who had a passion for all things event. One day we were at an event held by our gym, started chatting about the event business and BOOM, things started to click (literally, we were in the photo booth)!

Our goal being to enhance the social gathering experience while facilitating someone’s vision with safety, opulence & ease! We wanted to provide people with a seamless experience and help create remarkable memories.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Property Manager by day, and also worked in the event industry for over 4 years. I’ve always been a hostess with the mostess, who has superb attention to detail. From NYE events to weddings and birthday parties, I’ve been the ultimate party starter.

One day I just decided to take a chance and go for it. Since starting, just learning more about running a business in general has been a great lesson, but also learning not to undervalue myself. Humility is good, but definitely know your worth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would basically be in the deep ellum or downtown for some sort of entertainment but food would be Bread Winner, Records BBQ another day and then maybe Sweet Georgia Brown’s. Really to many choices to choose from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my business partner and owner of Double Luxxe candles, Kim Bernard. Also, Jamisha Daniels with It Must Be Jam.
