We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In starting my own business I felt it was imperative to research as much as possible. In researching heavily prior to starting I was able to gain a wealth of knowledge on my industry as well as understand and develop my own business plan. Having a foundation when starting a business can really position you for sustainability.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Focus & Frame Eyewear we sell stylish and affordable prescription and non prescription glasses online. What sets us a part is that we are customer centered. We offer U.S. Based prescription lens fulfillment and lens customization, shorter shipping times, and exceptional customer service to name a few. I am most proud of our product offering, I love that we are able to provide people with the option to purchase quality glasses without breaking the bank. I got to where I am today by maintaining a big business mindset and creating structure while learning and growing as a small company. Starting a company isn’t easy but through prayer, commitment, and consistency amazing things can happen. One of the greatest lessons I have learned so far is that its okay fail just do it quickly, learn from it and get back to it. I want the world to know that my company is not meant to be self serving its meant to better people’s lives in one way or another to truly pour back into the community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city has to be hanging out on lake Lewisville or hiking in Cedar Hill. Grab a bite at Ivory Kitchen or fuel city tacos and maybe go to downtown for ice cream at Jeni’s. I would possibly checkout the murals and bar hop in deep Ellum that night and end it off with a staycation at the Hilton Anatole.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been so many people who have contributed to my success, I don’t know if I could even name them all. From an early age two people really affirmed me as a young woman, Katherine Sholes, a close family friend and Sarah Jones, my high school teacher. These ladies were pivotal in my life, there affirmations still hold me. Next I would like to thank my family, friends, and sorors for always supporting me and pushing me forward even in times of self doubt. Last and most importantly I owe so much of my success to my husband he has truly been my backbone and partner in all things.
