We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
A big driving force behind starting this business was our children. My husband Anthony and I want to show our children that they can do anything that they set their minds to. As first generation small business owners, we take great pride in paving the way for them and teaching them the lessons that we are learning along the way. They are seeing the work that goes into our business, the time that it takes at all times of the day and week, and the sacrifices that we have had to make to start up this business. We would love to grow this business into something successful that they can choose to take over in the future.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Romeros Mini Donuts is a food trailer that serves hot donuts topped with a variety of choices for toppings. We take such pride in our donuts and love how happy they make our customers! We also don’t focus on early morning events, we have found that our donuts are more of a dessert than a breakfast item and they do better in the afternoons or evenings. We started this food trailer and business in November 2020, mid pandemic. Its not been an easy start, but the response to our donuts has been phenomenal. Our customer feedback has pushed us to find things to be a part of so that we can be open and available to serve them as much as possible. I’ve learned so much about marketing, the permitting processes, and the importance of creating relationships with other vendors . I want the world to know how passionate and excited we are about spreading joy through our mini donuts! In a time of such uncertainty, this is a small way that we can bring happiness to someone’s day. We take great pride in our donuts and customer service and love what we are doing with this business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As fun as Dallas is, I’d take my best friend to my hometown of Ennis, TX, just south of Dallas. We would spend a long weekend at The Range Vintage Trailer Resort, where we could relax and unwind in the country and enjoy some downtime. We would take a trip into downtown Ennis to visit Lucy at Homegrown Market to have lunch and look at the fun clothes Well Labeled has to offer. We would absolutely have to stop right down the street by Rustic Shed to Home to do some local shopping for an outfit and jewelry. Shopping and supporting local means so much more now than ever to me and I love the relationships that are formed while visiting these places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Romeros Mini Donuts would not be what it is today without the support, hard work, time, and encouragement from my husband Anthony, who is the other half of this small business! A huge part of the equation is our parents, who have been there for us, helping with our kids and supporting our dreams along the way.
