We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A Hundred XOXO was created because I wanted to create a space for women to feel empowered to prioritize self care in their lives. I was coming from a place personally of being unfilled with my career, grieving my grandmother, and divorce on top of being a mother to 3 kids. I had truly neglected my self care and wanted to turn that around and I feel so much better since. I’ve made the decision to put self care to the forefront help other women at the same time.
What should our readers know about your business?
A Hundred XOXO offers a unique self care experience each month. Each month, we send an exciting box of self-care products and activities that are designed to help unwind and relax. We believe that taking the time to care for yourself is important, but we also know that it can be hard to find the time. That’s why each month, we provide a reminder to take some time out—just for you!
As we continue to grow, I am so grateful for the feedback and support we have received from our customers. Every time someone sends us a message, post or video about how much they are enjoying their XOXO self care box, it fills my heart with joy.
It is our mission to encourage women by reassuring them that self care is the luxury they deserve. We want every woman to know that it’s okay to take care of herself, because she deserves it.
We’ve had customers purchase our self care boxes as gifts for friends and family, and many have come back to tell us how much those gifts mean to them.
The biggest obstacle I’ve faced so far is getting my business name out in these streets! I’m a natural introvert so I really had to push myself to step outside of my comfort zone to promote my brand. I’ve been attending more in person events and I’m even hosting very first self care experience for Galantine’s Day.
I’ve also been working on some new product ideas that will give people the opportunity come to A Hundred XOXO of other self care essential needs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Dallas, I always have. I’m from California but I lived here as a kid for a few years and I knew when I graduated high school I wanted to come back. I’ve now been living here for 18 years!
When I have family or friends some visit I definitely have some go to spots to take them. My favorite brunch spots are Sixty Vines in Uptown and Streets Fine chicken on Oak lawn. Gloria’s is always good for lunch or dinner because the drinks never miss. I recently discovered Golden Blk Co which a candle bar where you make your own candles, it’s such a vibe and in the heart of downtown. I love karaoke and Eso Mimosa Bar on Thursdays is lit!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my tribe which includes my sister Ronda, my family, my friends, and all entrepreneurs I’ve meet along my journey who inspire and encourage me to keep going. Thank you I love you all!
