We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Callahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I believe that taking risks is essential for growth, both personally and professionally. Throughout my career as a Credit Repair Consultant and business owner, risk has played a pivotal role. When I started Kobra Financial, it was a leap of faith—leaving the security of a 9-to-5 job to pursue my passion for helping people transform their financial situations. That decision required stepping out of my comfort zone, but I knew that growth and opportunity often come from the unknown.

Risk has shown up in my life in other ways too. From repairing my own credit and using that experience to guide others, to launching new programs and services without always knowing the outcome—each move has involved some level of uncertainty. But I’ve always believed in making calculated risks, supported by research and preparation. It’s about balancing the potential reward with the challenge, knowing that even if things don’t go as planned, the lessons learned are invaluable.

For me, risk has been less about fear and more about faith—faith in my abilities, in the mission of Kobra Financial, and in the people I’ve been able to help along the way. Without taking those risks, I wouldn’t be where I am today, helping others achieve financial freedom.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kobra Financial is a credit repair consultancy that I founded to empower individuals and families to regain control of their financial futures. What sets us apart is our personalized approach to credit repair and financial education. We don’t just offer quick fixes; we aim to transform the mindset of our clients, helping them understand the importance of long-term credit health and financial literacy.

I’m most proud of the real-life transformations we’ve been a part of—clients who came to us burdened by poor credit and left with not only improved scores but a renewed sense of confidence and possibility. It’s incredibly exciting to see someone go from being denied for a loan to buying their first home or securing business financing to take their dreams to the next level.

Getting to where I am today was far from easy. Kobra Financial began after I experienced my own financial hardships, from car repossession to living paycheck to paycheck. After repairing my own credit, I realized how many people were in the same position, feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward. That’s when I decided to start helping others, first family and friends, and eventually turning it into a full-time business.
As I helped more family members and friends repair their credit, I realized that this was more than just a side hustle—it was my calling. So I left my 9-5 job working for the City of Irving and took the leap to run my own business full-time. I launched Kobra Financial, and the results were incredible.

In February 2021, just five years after starting, I made $10,000 in a single month for three consecutive months. This wasn’t just a financial achievement—it was proof that the systems I created to help people rebuild their credit and take control of their financial future really worked. It was a defining moment for me, affirming that my passion for empowering others could be a successful business.
There were plenty of challenges along the way, from learning how to market myself as a credit repair consultant to navigating the complexities of running a business. But I overcame these obstacles with persistence, a lot of faith, and a commitment to continuous learning. I knew the value of what I was offering, and I believed in the mission of helping others escape the financial struggles I once faced.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance and patience. Success doesn’t come overnight, but with consistency and a clear vision, progress will follow. Another key lesson is understanding the power of community. Building strong relationships with my clients and network has been instrumental in the growth of Kobra Financial. Lastly, I’ve learned that the mindset you approach life with can determine your success—having an abundant mindset, not a scarcity one, can shift your whole outlook and open doors you never thought possible.
I want the world to know that Kobra Financial isn’t just about fixing credit scores—it’s about giving people a fresh start and a new outlook on their financial potential. My own journey from financial hardship to stability is at the heart of what I do. I’ve been where many of my clients are, and that fuels my passion for helping them find freedom from financial stress. We’re here to not only repair credit but also to educate, empower, and inspire others to take control of their financial future.

At Kobra Financial, we believe that no matter where you start, you can always rewrite your financial story—and we’re here to help you do it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d definitely want to give them the perfect blend of local culture, good food, and a bit of relaxation. Here’s what our week might look like:

Day 1: Arrival & Relaxation
I’d start with a warm welcome—probably a home-cooked meal or a visit to a local spot I love. There’s a great little restaurant in town called Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley – Dallas, where we’d grab dinner, catch up, and enjoy a laid-back vibe. It’s all about ease and getting settled in on the first day.

Day 2: Brunch & Exploring the City
I’d take them to a brunch spot like Meddlesome Moth, where we could enjoy some amazing food—maybe chicken and waffles or a classic eggs benedict. Afterward, we’d explore some local landmarks, maybe visit Museum of Illusions Dallas. I love walking around the city and checking out unique shops, so we’d hit up a few local boutiques or markets.

Day 3: Outdoor Adventure
For some outdoor fun, I’d take them hiking or biking at Cedar Ridge Preserve. We could spend the day enjoying the fresh air, maybe even pack a picnic. If they’re into something a little more adventurous, we’d rent kayaks or paddleboards at Trinity River. Afterward, we’d hit up a casual spot for dinner, like Monarch Restaurant, where the food is always good, and the atmosphere is chill.

Day 4: Culture & Fine Dining
On day four, we’d get a little more cultured—perhaps visiting an art gallery or taking in a show at Dallas Museum of Art. In the evening, we’d go for a more upscale dinner at La Stella Cucina Verace, where we could enjoy some craft cocktails and a beautiful meal. It would be a night to dress up and have a great time!

Day 5: Relaxation & Spa Day
We’d take a break from all the activity with a spa day at Spa Habitat, where we could enjoy massages, facials, and just unwind. After that, I’d keep it simple with dinner at a cozy spot like The Rustic, maybe even catching a movie or heading back home for a Netflix night.

Day 6: Food Tour & Shopping
I’d take them on a little food tour of the best local spots—tacos, barbecue, whatever they’re craving. I love supporting local food trucks and smaller joints that have the best flavors. We’d also dedicate a little time to shopping, whether it’s at a local mall or more unique spots downtown.

Day 7: Last Hurrah
For the final day, I’d go big! Maybe we’d catch a live concert or sports game, depending on what’s happening in town. We’d top it all off with dinner at my favorite rooftop bar or restaurant, enjoying the city’s skyline and reflecting on the week.

Some of the most exciting things around here are the variety of experiences—you can go from outdoor adventures to cultural experiences to amazing food in a matter of minutes. It’s a great balance of everything, and I love sharing that with friends when they visit!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support, mentorship, and encouragement of some key people in my life. First and foremost, I want to shout out my mother, who has always believed in me and pushed me to pursue my dreams, even when the path wasn’t clear. She’s been a constant source of love and strength.

I also want to recognize my husband, who has been my rock through every challenge and transition, from the early days of repairing our own credit to building Kobra Financial together. His unwavering support has been invaluable.

Additionally, I have to give a lot of credit to the man I met at a tax seminar who encouraged me to turn my credit repair skills into a business. His words planted the seed that grew into Kobra Financial.

I’m also grateful for the community of clients and supporters who have trusted me with their financial journeys. Their success is my success, and their loyalty keeps me motivated every day.

Lastly, God my faith has played a huge role in my journey. It’s been my guiding light, especially during tough times. There’s a quote I often hold onto: “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” That has truly carried me forward.
