We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Hardin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Since I have become a mom, my work/life balance has changed tremendously. I would prioritize my college and work life over my own self-care. After having my daughter and being able to take care of her, I realized that in order for her to flourish, I had to start tending to my own needs as well. I see so much of myself in her and it makes me see myself in a better light. It is because of her that I started 415 Crochet. I want to make her everything she loves; I want to give her the world. So, when it comes to my work/life balance, I would say that they are one in the same. I love what I do, and if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would like to think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I am more personable than other artists. I like to reply to messages as quick as possible, at all hours of the night! I also like to think I’m cheaper than other artists. I like to set my prices at what I would pay for my work, not how much the materials are worth or how much time it takes.

I am very excited to expand my business! Currently I am only on Facebook with Meta for Business, but I would like to expand to Shopify and Etsy as well!

I honestly got to where I am today by giving out free stuff. You have to start somewhere, and giving close friends items for free and asking them to advertise for you is a great way to gain publicity! I wouldn’t say it is easy though, I am still a small business (and by small, I mean really small), but I really do enjoy what I do, no matter how small I am!

My brand is about making people happy. That is all I have ever wanted to do! It makes me happy to see other people happy! My story is about overcoming and conquering. I don’t believe the deep secrets are important. All that matters is that I came out on top, for myself and my daughter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend is actually my fiancé, and I have always wanted to take a beach vacation with him. I want nothing more than to get sunburned in the ocean, and to collect as many shells as I possibly can, It really is that simple. I want to eat nothing but seafood, because quite honestly, that is my favorite food. And I actually enjoy visiting all the tourist traps and buying overpriced souvenirs!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank Anna Rodriguez, my old next door neighbor. Right at the start of the pandemic, Anna took the time to teach me how to crochet. I most definitely did not understand the concept at first and it made me really nervous to have her looking over my shoulder, but she was extremely patient with me. She took me to the store and bought me my first yarn, hooks, and instruction manual. We don’t live next to each other anymore, but she will always have a very special place in my heart!

I also want to thank my fiancé, Hayden Come, and my grandma, Gayle Bauer. They were the one’s who helped me get the nerve to actually start 415 Crochet. They are my best friends and I love them more than life itself!
