We had the good fortune of connecting with Brett McPherson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brett, how do you think about risk?
I feel like you have to take a risk to create really great design! It always seems that my clients have that one thing they REALLY want to do but they are scared of it. When they go for it – it is always their favorite thing. There is calculation to this for sure… longevity of the design, cost, how easy is it to change in the future, etc. but I think taking the leap is important.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a product of small-town America, my roots run deep in the western way of life. Growing up on a ranch in Oklahoma instilled within me not just a passion for the rustic charm of the West, but also a relentless work ethic that forms the backbone of everything I do.

In the world of home building, nothing comes easy. Yet, the challenges are what make the journey worth it. I’ve had the honor of working on some of Oklahoma and Texas’s most exquisite homes, and for that, I am endlessly grateful. The trust my clients place in me to transform their dreams into reality is a responsibility I cherish. I bring more than 100% to the table, promising not just hard work but also unwavering passion, ensuring that we not only build homes but also create unforgettable experiences along the way.

For me, every aspect of design ignites a spark of excitement. However, the most crucial lesson I’ve learned is the indispensable role of contractors and builders in this process. Dreaming is just the beginning; it takes an entire dedicated team to turn those dreams into tangible, breathtaking spaces. Flexibility, combined with unwavering firmness, is the cornerstone of navigating the intricate journey of home design.

Driven by a commitment to leave a lasting legacy for my clients and their loved ones, I embarked on a journey to establish our own private label furniture line. This endeavor allows us to craft the most bespoke and personalized pieces, ensuring that every home is not just built but also beautifully furnished with pieces that reflect individual stories.

Explore our exclusive line of refined, handcrafted furniture pieces—an extension of our dedication to creating spaces that exude warmth, elegance, and individuality. Join us on this journey of transforming houses into cherished homes and building legacies that span generations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A good time for me always revolves around live music and great food! I am a big fan of Fort Worth so a couple of days shopping at Mavericks and Leddy’s will do our souls some good. Taking in all of the aesthetics at the Drover and soaking up all of the live music we can find would be on our list. The tamales from the Riata would absolutely be on the list along with some Coors light. That would pretty much be the best time ever! Oh! and maybe squeeze in a nap. lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family is so supportive. My parents have never told me I couldn’t do anything, and my husband is my BIGGEST supporter! My kids think I’m superwoman at this stage. I’ll embrace that while I can. And I owe it all to the big guy for giving me this dream and talent.
