We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Styll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Whether you think you can do a thing, or whether you think you can’t do a thing, you’re right..

Henry Ford

Maintaining a positive, can do attitude is something that you have to have as an entrepreneur. Too many people tell you you can’t, it’s too hard, and that what you are doing will never work. Entrepreneurs work right through some of their toughest critics. As long as that critic isn’t yourself. If you believe in yourself, and you know your product or service will solve a problem, or that it will work, the only person you need to listen to is yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started Nashville Restaurant Radio in March 2020 after the pandemic had officially begun. I wasn’t sure of what I wanted from it, but I knew at the time that I needed to share our industry’s perspective from many angles as we were forced to be apart. I did not know how to do any of it. I learned how to record, edit, distribute, and find ad revenue on my own. I have recorded over 200 episodes in almost 2 years, and the podcast has had over 15 sponsors, and over 35k downloads. The podcast is going strong, and I now have a studio that I interview guests in person.

So many people said that podcasting is hard, you don’t know what you are doing, it’s going to take 3 years, etc.. I absolutely love connecting with my guests. While the world has grown apart and divided, through this podcast I have been able to connect on a personal level with so many thought leaders in my industry, and hopefully helped bring a community together during a time that we were forced to be apart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to a Nashville Predators game. We would hang out on Broadway before and after the game, as it is electric on game nights.

We would visit the Parthenon during the day, and also visit the Musicians hall of fame in the municipal auditorium. The Country Music Hall of Fame is also a great tour. We have a brand new museum The National Museum of African American Music.

In the Summer, you are 30 minutes away from relaxing canoe and kayak trips down the Harpeth river via Foggy Bottom Canoe Rental. Another great place to visit is Cheekwood botanical gardens in Belle Meade.

Dining we would have to go to East Nashville to experience Lockeland Table, or Margot. (So many restaurants in East Nashville that are worthy, too many to list)

Downtown Franklin has a ton of civil war history. Dining at Mere Bulles in Brentwood is a must as it’s a 7500 sq foot mansion converted into a beautiful restaurant with a fantastic bar and lounge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
