Meet Brandon Banks | Choreographer, Travel Agent, Jewelry Consultant, Educator, Academic Language Practitioner, and more loading

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Banks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was a SELF decision. I have worked hard for others over the years and decided if I can work hard for them, then I could surely work hard for myself. A few years ago, I remember hearing Bishop T. D. Jakes talk about the importance of having multiple streams of income. He inspired me to open myself up to making and keeping multiple streams of income. I started looking for things that I could do to initially supplement my income. However, somewhere my mind shifted and now I am making my multiple streams of income become my main income source.

What should our readers know about your business?
The B. Banks brand is a collection of different entrepreneurial ventures. This collection includes Brandon’s Choreography, B. Banks’ Great Escape Travel Agency, B. Banks’ Alabaster Box, and Academic Language Therapy Support start-up business.
What sets me apart from others is that I am real, honest, and I do everything with my heart as if I was doing it for myself. I do everything with the upmost integrity and want each and every customer to not only return but choose me for all future endeavors due to the experience they have received.
I am most proud of becoming a serial entrepreneur that is growing on a larger scale. I am learning to take more business risk on myself and on my business ventures, which is not always easy when you have not grown up around many entrepreneurs.
I have gotten to where I am today in my businesses by continuing the course and making changes as needed. It is not easy at all, and mistakes are made, but the willingness to learn from my mistakes has helped me to minimize the mistakes that I make in my business. I have gotten plugged in with others that are likeminded individuals, taken trainings, and look to others for guidance and mentorship.
Making mistakes can become costly and after you have made a few costly mistakes you have to really learn quickly from those mistakes. You have to also watch the numbers of your business. Watch the trends in your business and promote it on a daily basis. You are a walking advertisement of your brand and if you don’t represent it daily then people will not think that you are serious.
I want the world to know that I am a trustworthy brand that takes the needs of its customers seriously and will be real with them up front. If we cannot meet their needs, I will say that, If I need them to be open to other options, I say that. I always want them to know when they are working with me, they are working with an HONEST person.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to first thank God, for providing me with the talent and resources to do anything that I put my mind to. You truly created me to be special and sometimes it scares me. I am amazed at what I am able to accomplish and do. Secondly, I want to recognize Bishop T. D. Jakes for teaching and preaching about being an entrepreneur and the importance of having multiple streams of income. This truly lit a spark in me a few years ago and I haven’t stopped since. I lastly would like to thank my supporters, customers, for always believing in me and what I will bring to the table in anything that I do.
Lastly, the youth, my driving force is to help the youth of our communities. I have worked for years creating programs and events for our youth to have a place to belong, grow, and feel safe.
