We had the good fortune of connecting with Bo Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bo, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Great opportunities don’t come often. So when an opportunity to move your career, business, or life forward comes … move quickly to take advantage of that it. The opportunity likely came because you prayed for it to come. You show your gratitude by taking action quickly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand, TheRealBoKnows, is all about empowerment, education, and transformation in every area of life. Through my businesses, I’m able to focus on two distinct but complementary missions.

As the founder of Hekima Financial Group, I specialize in financial coaching, helping individuals and families protect, grow, and manage their finances with strategies that build lasting wealth. My goal is to simplify financial literacy and provide tools that empower clients to take control of their financial future. What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex financial concepts into actionable steps, paired with a genuine commitment to seeing my clients succeed.

In addition, through my second business, MANifestations, which is a coaching and faith-based counseling practice, I work as a certified Life Empowerment Coach. This arm of my brand focuses on personal development, relationships, and helping men connect with their masculine core. I’m passionate about helping men lead with strength and purpose while fostering healthier connections with the people they care about most.

Getting to this point in my journey has not been without its challenges. Building two businesses while maintaining focus and consistency has required perseverance, discipline, and faith. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that clarity of purpose makes all the difference. By staying grounded in my values and committed to my vision, I’ve been able to navigate the obstacles and grow through the process.

What I want the world to know about TheRealBoKnows is that it’s more than a brand—it’s a mission. Whether through financial literacy or personal development, I am committed to inspiring transformation and helping others unlock their God-given potential. I want to empower people to master their money, their relationships, and ultimately their lives. My story is one of faith, resilience, and an unyielding belief in the power of purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan a week filled with great food, fun, and unique experiences that reflect the best of Dallas-Fort Worth. We’d start with incredible BBQ at Pecan Lodge or Tender Smokehouse, followed by standout meals like lobster fried rice from Best Thai in Frisco or seafood and steak at Dee Lincoln Prime. On the weekend, we’d explore the Frisco Fresh Market, where Tu Bones serves amazing soul food and oxtails. For shopping, we’d skip the usual spots and head to Allen Outlets and Caruth Plaza to hunt for great deals. Sports would definitely be on the itinerary, with a Dallas Cowboys or Dallas Mavericks game if the season allows. For entertainment, we’d hit up a comedy show at Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub or The Improv and unwind with some cocktails at a relaxed spot. I’d also include catching a movie at The Cut in Frisco, an upscale theater where we can dine and drink in style. For a bit of adventure, we’d go bowling or try axe throwing. The week would strike the perfect balance of relaxation, upscale vibes, and a touch of excitement, showing off all the area has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give honor to God. His grace, guidance, and faithfulness have carried me through every season of my life. He has been my foundation, my strength, and my source of purpose, and I wouldn’t be here without Him.

I also want to give a special shoutout to my friend CJ Starr, who connected me with this incredible opportunity. His support and belief in me are a testament to the power of community and genuine connections, and I’m truly grateful for him opening this door.

I want to acknowledge my mother for instilling in me resilience, faith, and the value of hard work. She exemplified strength and love in ways that laid the foundation for the man I am today. Her sacrifices and unwavering support taught me what it means to lead with integrity and purpose.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Roland Sigler III, who I affectionately call ‘Pops,’ my spiritual mentor. His wisdom, encouragement, and example of what it means to be a man of strength and faith have been invaluable in helping me navigate life’s challenges with grace and purpose. His impact on my life has been immeasurable, and I’m forever grateful for his presence in my journey.

And I would be remiss to not mention my family and friends who’ve stayed with me along the way. I don’t have space to mention all of you by name but you know who you are. Thank you for being an integral part of my life.
